Black Panther Shows T'Challa Through His Relationships

There are many reasons for us to be excited about Marvel’s Black Panther. The movie represents the last chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe before our favorite Marvel superheroes are launched into a war against Thanos and the Black Order. Marvel’s Black Panther also will be the first time we get to see the full Black Panther experience brought to life on the big screen. We’ve gotten to see Black Panther in action outside of his kingdom, but now we get to see him interact with the family and home he loves. However, there is a lot more we should be excited about.

Screen Rant got a chance to talk to director Ryan Coogler and actors Letitia Wright and Winston Duke at San Diego Comic Con 2017 about what it is we should be excited for in Marvel’s Black Panther.

So we saw a sliver of Black Panther in Civil War. What are you most excited for fans to see about this Black Panther?

RYAN COOGLER: Wow. I think I am really excited. You get to know so much more about him and, specifically, through the people that he loves. You will see the people who like T’Challa. And he’s a person who cares deeply for his family. He cares deeply for his people and that is where his identity lies. So you know how they say you don’t know somebody until you meet their parents and meet their friends? So that’s what I am most excited about. Yeah. Because you get to know T’Challa through all of his relationships and you see sides of him that you might not have seen in the last film.

I am so excited for this film and mainly for your character because your character has been compared to characters more brilliant than Tony Stark. Was there any kind of tech that you got to play with on set and what was your favorite piece of tech that might have been a part of Wakanda?

LETITIA WRIGHT: My favorite tech so far has been the gauntlets because obviously that is my baby. That is my protection and I made them, so that’s been my favorite so far. And there is more in store. I don’t want to spoil it for anyone. When you watch the film in February, on the 16th of February 2018, you are going to be pleasantly surprised at what Shuri adds to the technology world and also to the armor of protection for her brother and her people. So I am excited for you to see that.

What are you most excited for fans to see about this film?

WINSTON DUKE:: There is so much but, since you are asking for me to choose, I will say the technology. The technology is amazing and I know you’ve just seen the preview. Ohhhhhhhh!
