Michael B. Jordan should take over Black Panther 3 as director and bring along Denzel Washington. Following his stint as a villain in the MCU, Black Panther’s Erik Killmonger actor has continued to be a major player in Hollywood. His latest film, A Journal For Jordan, teamed him with Washington, a veteran actor who has been one of the biggest names in the industry for more than 30 years. According to Jordan, he has ideas” about bringing Washington into the MCU.

Given how successful Jordan has been in recent years, there are some who find it disappointing that Jordan’s work in the MCU won’t go beyond a single film and a few voice roles in Marvel’s What If…? And while there may be a rather large demand for Jordan to reprise his role as Killmonger in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the chances of that happening are low. After all, Killmonger’s story had a meaningful ending that didn’t create much expectation for his character to make any further big-screen appearances. That being said, playing Killmonger may not be the only way Jordan can have an impact on the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

With Jordan soon to make his directorial debut with Creed III in late 2022, the idea of Jordan taking the reins of a Marvel movie may become a real possibility. Perhaps the MCU project best suited for him would be Black Panther 3. It hasn’t been announced yet and may be a distant thought in 2021, but assuming Wakanda Forever is a hit for the studio, it should be in the cards for Phase 5. By that point, Jordan could be ready to direct an MCU movie of his own. If Ryan Coogler chooses not to direct the third installment, Jordan could be the ideal choice to take the reins of the franchise in his place. Also, Jordan’s recent comments indicate that he might be inclined to cast Washington in a key role.

Killmonger challenges Black Panther for the crown.

Apart from the excitement that Washington playing an MCU character would surely bring, the notion of Jordan directing Black Panther 3 has a great deal of promise. The actor, who has learned from a number of talented and highly experienced filmmakers, has a fundamental understanding of Wakanda’s world and the characters that occupy it. Not only that, but remarks that he’s made in the past demonstrate that Jordan shares a deep appreciation for Coogler’s vision and what he created with Black Panther. All things considered, allowing Jordan to take over Black Panther 3 would be a natural progression, rather than a jarring change.

One of the many things his Black Panther movie could potentially deliver for the MCU would be the casting of Denzel Washington. Through all the movies Marvel has made over the years, the MCU of course already boasts dozens of household names from Hollywood. However, there’s still a long list of talented A-list stars that have yet to come aboard the MCU but have a lot to offer. One of the many the studios hasn't used that stand out is Washington. If Jordan really does have the right character in mind for the actor, he could be the director who finally shepherds Washington into the MCU. Since the latter plans on retiring soon, there’s a good chance Black Panther 3 could serve as a perfect final role for the legendary actor.
