Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

Following Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Doctor Doom becoming the villain for Black Panther 3 can continue the franchise's best trick for the MCU. Debuting the nation of Wakanda in the first film, the Black Panther movies excel at world-building, expanding the geography of the MCU in some very impressive ways. As such, Victor von Doom creates a very exciting opportunity for Black Panther 3.

While not overtly referenced in Wakanda Forever, there are a handful of ways that Doctor Doom could appear in Black Panther 3. The Dora Milaje's Midnight Angel armor debuted in the comics when Wakanda was at war with Doom. Ironheart's comics career began with encounters with Doom when he took Iron Man's mantle. Doctor Doom has also sought Wakanda's vibranium for its unique ability to harness magical power (which has not yet been seen in the MCU). However, Namor also predicts that Wakanda will soon find itself assailed by rival nations, and one nation, in particular, could be leading the charge in Black Panther 3.

The debut of Doctor Doom in the MCU would most likely mean the introduction of Latveria as well, the nation from which Victor rules with an iron fist. Located in Eastern Europe, Latveria is a small yet powerful kingdom, guarded by an army of Victor's own Doombots. It's also a bastion sanctuary where Doctor Doom is virtually untouchable, daring any country to step foot on Latveria's sovereign soil (which would be seen as an act of war).

The introduction of Latveria would continue the Black Panther franchise's world-building trend. The first film naturally debuted the secret African nation of Wakanda and Wakanda Forever introduced viewers to Namor's undersea kingdom of Talokan. As such, Latveria would continue the pattern by offering a whole new nation to be explored, uniquely ruled by one of the Marvel Universe's biggest villains.

Why The Black Panther Series Is So Good At World Building

Black Panther Wakanda Forever Talokan

The Black Panther films have been pulling double duty thus far. The movies have progressed the story of the Black Panther while also expanding the MCU with new locales and shaking up the geopolitical landscape. This is likely why the Black Panther films are so good at world-building in the first place. There are strong narrative reasons for debuting these new nations which create lasting impacts on the MCU at large. The threat of Namor's Talokan being exposed kicks off a large conflict with Wakanda while a vibranium arms race begins in the background (and will likely continue in the MCU's future).

Latveria possibly debuting in the future would be a natural next step following Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. How will the MCU react to a new nation ruled by a major supervillain? Continuing the world-building trend via Doctor Doom and his European kingdom in Black Panther 3 is a very exciting opportunity the MCU could and should take advantage of.
