A new logline for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever teases the movie's plot centers around a war between Wakanda and Atlantis. Marvel Studios just started production on Black Panther 2 in Atlanta after taking the necessary time to retool the film in light of Chadwick Boseman's unexpected passing. Director Ryan Coogler has promised that the movie will honor the late star as it continues to grow the incredibly successful Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise.

Ever since Black Panther 2 was announced, fans speculated that it could be the perfect place to bring Namor to the MCU. The hope was that the Sub-Mariner and Atlantis could be introduced as the villains of the sequel as they fight Wakanda. Marvel Studios has yet to confirm that Namor and Atlantis are in Black Panther 2, but recent reports suggest Tenoch Huerta is playing Namor and that Marvel is looking to cast additional Atlanteans. Now, a new piece of information potentially further corroborates the idea that Wakanda and Atlantis will be at war in the film.

Now that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is in production, a new logline has surfaced online from Production Weekly (via The DisInsider). The reported logline for Black Panther 2 has not been officially revealed by Marvel Studios, so there is a chance that details of it are not entirely accurate. However, it points to the war between Atlantis and Wakanda being at the heart of Black Panther 2's story. Check it out below:

Both Wakanda and Atlantis are hidden civilizations with advanced technology and increased militaristic abilities that decided to separate themselves from the rest of the world for their own safety, and in a way, out of fear. Wakanda feared that their technology would be abused. Atlantis feared that surface dwellers would come and desecrate the mythical city just as they did so many years ago. And yet their fears escalate even further when these two once-hidden nations clash with each other. Wakanda and Atlantis have a shockingly intertwined history. Wakanda is the only county in the world with access to vibranium. However, rumors of its power spread throughout the world, and Namor’s human father was sent searching for this rare material in Antartica…

The Black Panther 2 logline includes several fascinating tidbits about how the MCU will introduce Namor and Atlantis. There have been multiple hints of the underwater nation existing in past MCU movies. Although Atlantis is commonly associated with the Pacific Ocean, there was a time when Antarctica was the home to the underwater people. It will be interesting to see if the MCU puts Namor and Atlantis in the frigid location now. This is when Namor's human father, Leonard McKenzie, captained a ship in search of vibranium that inadvertently harmed the underwater city. This led Leonard to capture and eventually fall in love with Princess Fen, leading to them bringing Namor into the world.

It certainly sounds like vibranium could be the key to Wakanda and Atlantis' conflict in the present day. While Wakanda might believe they are the only advanced secret society with access to the powerful resource, Atlantis might have its own collection of vibranium. This would be a smart way to tie Wakanda and Atlantis together and explain the conflict they have. With the tease of a long history between them, there is a chance that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will only tell the latest chapter in Atlantis and Wakanda's ongoing feud.
