Anthony Mackie hypes up Black Panther: Wakanda Forever after paying a visit to the set of the Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel, though says he's not in the movie. Mackie made his debut in the MCU with Captain America: The Winter Soldier as Sam Wilson, a former Air Force Pararescueman who becomes a close friend and ally of Chris Evans' titular hero and utilizes his mechanical flight suit for good under the alias Falcon. After being a supporting player in a number of other MCU projects, Mackie would get the chance to co-lead his own title with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier in which he starred alongside Sebastian Stan and became the MCU's new Captain America.

Plot details for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever are currently under wraps as development on the film had to undergo a major shift following the death of original star Chadwick Boseman and Marvel Studios electing not to recast the role of T'Challa. The MCU sequel will see the returns of Lupita Nyong'o, Dania Gurira, Martin Freeman, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke and Angela Bassett and introduce Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams ahead of her Ironheart Disney+ show. Following a number of starts and stops, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever finally wrapped filming in March and one MCU star is sharing some insight for what's to come from the film.

While appearing at the Grammys on Sunday (via Black Panther: Wakanda Forever News), Anthony Mackie opened up about the long-awaited Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The star downplayed his involvement in the sequel, directly stating he's not in it, but did hype up the film after paying a visit to the set ahead of it wrapping. See what Mackie shared below:

"I'm very excited to say they just wrapped filming Black Panther 2. It's going to be amazing, it's going to be spectacular. I'm not [in it] but I've been [to the set], I've witnessed it. I'm very excited for everyone to see Black Panther 2, they just wrapped it."

This isn't the first time Mackie has addressed the possibility of being in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, having jokingly stated last year that he had "a Wakanda visa" and could go to the fictional country as much as he wanted. He did also note that if he were to appear in the MCU sequel, he would want it to be in a respectful manner given the "admiration I have for Chad" and the desire that everything for the film is "done right for him." Given Wilson's interactions with the Dora Milaje in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Bucky's close relationship with the fictional country, it's easy to understand theories pointing towards Mackie possibly appearing in the film.

Even if Mackie's Captain America doesn't make his way back to Wakanda for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the star's hyping up of the film should come as exciting news for those who have eagerly awaited its arrival. With Mackie clearly caring as much about it honoring Chadwick Boseman's legacy as those close to the production itself, his promise of it being amazing does point towards something special being on the horizon. Only time will tell when Black Panther: Wakanda Forever hits theaters on November 11.
