New set photos from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever show Riri Williams aka Ironheart (Dominique Thorne) at MIT. Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is introducing several new heroes who will be instrumental to what happens in a post-Avengers: Endgame world. Characters like Shang-Chi and the Eternals will headline their own movies, while Moon Knight and Ms. Marvel are among those getting Disney+ shows. Riri is included in the latter category with Ironheart on the way, but audiences will first meet Dominique Thorne's MCU character in Black Panther 2.

Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige, confirmed plans to include Riri Williams in the highly anticipated sequel to Black Panther recently. This came after it was originally announced that she'd star in a Disney+ series. Thorne's debut as the fan-favorite character from the comics is one of many ways how Black Panther 2 is expected to shape the MCU's future. But, details on how she'll factor into the story have yet to be officially revealed. But some new set photos have shed more light on Ironheart's role in Black Panther 2.

After photos of Dominique Thorne near the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever set surfaced online, images of her filming scenes have now hit the web. Thorne is shown walking in jeans and a grey Massachusetts Institute of Technology shirt while wearing a backpack. This is the first confirmed look at Riri Williams in the MCU, and she appears to be on the MIT campus or someplace nearby. Check out the photos below:

Now that Riri Williams has been spotted wearing an MIT shirt in Black Panther 2, this is a good sign that the MCU is keeping this part of her comic history. The young genius attends the university in the comics, and that connection could go a long way in the shared universe. Tony Stark also went to MIT as a teenager and set up the September Foundation there as well. Riri could even be a recipient of the grant in the MCU, which could allow Stark to inadvertently and posthumously help her take over the Iron Man mantle.

With these photos providing another glimpse at Ironheart in Black Panther 2, it should be fascinating to see how big of a role she has. Marvel Studios could give Riri a smaller role that sets up the Ironheart Disney+ show and even save her superhero transformation for the small screen. But, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever could also show Riri's Ironheart origin so the series can begin with her as an established hero. As filming continues on the upcoming sequel, the more time Thorne spends on set will give fans a better idea of just how much screen time she'll receive.
