A new Black Panther: Wakanda Forever photo shows Ironheart actress Dominique Thorne on set. Once the Marvel Cinematic Universe killed Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man in Avengers: Endgame, fans began to wonder who will continue to wear some of Stark's armor in the future. It didn't take too long for confirmation to come that Riri Williams was coming to the MCU and that she'll star in the Ironheart Disney+ series.

The MCU debut of Riri Williams won't wait until her solo show, though. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige recently revealed that Dominique Thorne would first play Ironheart in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The sequel from director Ryan Coogler has continued to move forward even after the death of Chadwick Boseman. While people around the world still are grieving his loss, the Black Panther team has made a point of emphasizing they're making the movie to honor the former franchise star's legacy. This will be balanced with expanding the world of Wakanda and the MCU at large by introducing new characters.

Filming on Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is currently underway, and the production recently shifted to Massachusetts to film scenes at MIT. This location has now brought the first possible look at Ironheart in the MCU. A photo shared on Instagram by Howari Nedroma shows Dominique Thorne on the Black Panther 2 set. It is unclear if Thorne is in a Riri Williams costume or if she's simply arriving to work and has yet to get into character. In either case, the image is confirmation that Thorne is on set and filming Black Panther 2.

The inclusion of Riri Williams at Black Panther: Wakanda Forever's MIT scenes is hardly a surprise. She attends the prestigious university in the comics, and her presumed idol Tony Stark has strong ties to MIT in the MCU. If Thorne is featured in this photo in her filming costume, the casual wear for Riri indicates she's not currently expecting a need to suit up as Ironheart. Other Black Panther 2 photos from the MIT set showed heavily armored vehicles and the Dora Milaje, though, so it seems that some major action scenes could unfold. If so, it will be fascinating to see if Riri is already ready to suit up or if she hasn't become Ironheart by this stage.

As filming continues on Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, there could be more teases of Ironheart's role in the movie. Little is known about her involvement or how big of a role she will have. Riri will be a big part of the MCU's future, though, and interacting with Shuri (Letitia Wright) could pay off in a big way. But, with Thorne now officially part of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and filming her scenes, it might not be too long before more information comes to light.
