Ahead of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's Season Four update on June 17, developer Treyarch has unleashed patch notes outlining what exactly players can expect. The studio launched Season Three at the end of April, unleashing new maps, Legendary Blueprints, Operator Skins, and more. Arguably, the real fun went live in May with the mid-Season update that introduced 80s Action Heroes John McClane and Rambo to the world of Call of Duty.

With Black Ops Cold War's Season Four right around the corner, rumors about what the content entails have been circulating like wildfire. Treyarch has participated in the excitement by releasing a few teases of its own every now and again. Several days ago, for example, the studio posted a trailer that revealed the return of the Hijacked map for Black Ops Cold War and Warzone. A cinematic trailer one live not too long thereafter, hinting at the nefarious schemes the villain Stitch has in store.

Patch notes on the official Treyarch website provide an overview of what Black Ops Cold War Season Four will bring to the table when it launches at 12:00 am ET on June 17. In general, the game will receive 100 new Battle Pass tiers, four additional Prestige Levels (16-19), a Gifting feature, Challenge tracker, and extra Weapon Unlock Challenges. Multiplayer-specific changes include the advent of a Hand Cannon scorestreak, 20 season challenges, 6v6 maps (Collateral Strike and Hijacked), and a Combined Arms map in the form of Collateral's 12v12 offer. Zombies players can expect to experience the Zoo as a new Outbreak region, as well as receive story intel on Dark Aether. A graphic for the BOCW and Warzone Season 4 roadmap features below:

As always, the above information represents a mere taste of what's to come. A mid-season update will likely go live in a few weeks that further expands upon the new content offerings in Black Ops Cold War and Warzone. For now, though, it seems Call of Duty players will have plenty to sink their teeth into when the new season rolls out.

Though BOCW and Warzone continue to receive support, fans remain eager to learn intel about the 2021 entry, Call of Duty: Vanguard. The title notably sat out during this year's E3, with Activision reportedly planning a full reveal for later in the summer.
