Spoilers for this week's Black Lightning

-

The trailer and synopsis for next week's Black Lightning have arrived, teasing the beginning of a family of superheroes. Like Black Panther, The CW's Black Lightning is going places few superhero properties have, exploring the plight faced by people of color and the toll it can take on a community, while still delivering exciting action and vibrant costumes. And soon, the show will have even more heroes running around.

This week's Black Lightning brought a number of plot points to a head and the remainder of the short season is likely to be action-packed. With Jefferson and Anissa both learning of each other's powers, we should soon see father and daughter team up as superheroes. We also got teases about the origin of Black Lightning's powers and how it could be connected to the drug Green Light and some of the other characters on the show. And next week, it looks like the journey to the finale will begin.

The CW released the trailer for next week's Black Lightning, which will see Jefferson and Anissa finally join forces. We may also see Gambi make Thunder's costume which was teased a few weeks back. Along with the trailer, the synopsis for the next episode was also revealed.

“BLACK LIGHTNING

“Equinox: The Book of Fate” — (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, LV) (HDTV)

THE NEW NORMAL – Black Lightning’s (Cress Williams) pursuit for Tobias (Marvin Jones III) continues. Anissa (Nafessa Williams) continues to find herself in the new normal. China Anne McClain, Christine Adams, Damon Gupton and James Remar also star. The episode was written by Lamont Magee and directed Billy Woodruff (#107). Original airdate 3/6/2018.”

The synopsis is rather vague, meaning some big events are sure to occur that could otherwise spoil things. Anissa's investigation seems tied to not only her and her father's powers, but also a variety of other metahumans and the drug Green Light. Last night's episode also hinted that Tobias Whale's lieutenant may have abilities herself—and Khalil may be the next recipient.

On top of the ties between superpowers, we also learn that Gambi has a connection to Lady Eve that could jeopardize his relationship with Jefferson. Black Lightning began its first season with a number of threads that all seem to be converging into one central story. Even the events prior to the show, namely Jefferson's father and the investigation that lead to his death, seems to be of real importance. And with the season almost halfway through, the coming weeks promise to be exhilarating.
