Following the various announcements at Comic-Con, it seems like Black Adam fighting the Suicide Squad could very easily happen in the DCEU. As of right now, it’s unknown what plans there are for Black Adam following the Black Adam movie or whether The Suicide Squad will continue beyond TV spinoffs like Peacemaker. The idea of a crossover between them now seems highly likely, however, and it could potentially make for one of Black Adam’s best fights.

In the months leading up to Black Adam’s release, there have been rumors suggesting that the movie will cross over with The Suicide Squad to some degree. The exact details of the crossover are unclear, but it had been rumored for a while that both Viola Davis and Jennifer Holland will reprise their roles of Amanda Waller and Emilia Harcourt, respectively, and that Black Adam will be detained at Belle Reve for a short period. At one point, there were rumors that Black Adam was set to be the villain of The Suicide Squad, so it’s clear that this isn’t the first time the characters of each movie were allegedly supposed to cross over.

Thanks to Comic-Con, it seems like there might be a bit of truth to those rumors. While nothing has been said of Jennifer Holland, it was announced that Viola Davis will be reprising the role of Amanda Waller in Black Adam, so both DC's Black Adam and The Suicide Squad are confirmed to be crossing over to some extent. Granted, the actual Suicide Squad likely won’t appear in the movie, as the focus will likely be on Black Adam’s conflict with Intergang and the Justice Society (plus, Waller's daughter Leota Adebayo essentially destroyed the Squad by outing Waller in Peacemaker, so they're currently a non-entity). But if Waller is going to be involved with Adam in any way, then a fight between Adam and the Suicide Squad is a relatively safe bet for a future property.

Why Black Adam Vs The Suicide Squad Is Better Than A Superman Fight

Another benefit of Black Adam fighting the Suicide Squad is that it could potentially be an even better fight than any potential ruckus between Black Adam and Superman. While a fight between Black Adam and Superman has been discussed for years, given the similarity of their power sets, the conflict would too easily devolve into two people with the same abilities trying to overpower each other, which is a pretty common trope in superhero stories. The Suicide Squad, however, gives Adam an entire team of enemies to fight, and since they’d all be far weaker than him, they’d likely have to use various tricks to counter his strength, allowing for Adam to use more than just brute force and generating a much more dynamic fight. The Suicide Squad's status as a roster of reprehensible supervillains also helps with this, as it means that Adam would be less likely to hold back and that the fight could go all-out in line with his true brutality and power. This might not come across as well if someone like Henry Cavill's Superman were his opponent.

With Comic-Con confirming that Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller will appear in Black Adam, a full crossover between Black Adam and The Suicide Squad where they end up fighting seems more certain now. While many would sooner expect a fight between Adam and Superman, this skirmish has the potential to be even better thanks to its opening for more variety and style as well as the blurred morality of everyone involved. There still isn’t any explicit confirmation of a Black Adam vs. Suicide Squad showdown at this point, but it’s more than plausible and would make for some destructive, satisfying, and inventive action.
