Screen Rant is excited to exclusively share that DC Comics' Black Adam #1 will receive a 2nd printing, featuring an epic variant cover starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson himself. Coinciding with the on-screen debut of the DCEU's ruler of Kahndaq, the first issue from DC's dynamic new series focused on Teth-Adam (and his successor) will be headed back to comic book stores.

Written by Priest with art by Rafa Sandoval, Black Adam #1 sees the titular anti-hero seeking out a new successor to inherit his power. Infected with a seemingly incurable plague, the no longer immortal Adam sought a replacement to redeem his legacy after what he thought was going to be his fast-approaching death. Finding a worthy descendant to take on his mantle, Black Adam chose med student Malik White to become the new Adam in his place. Upon hearing White's refusal Black Adam had Malik shot, forcing him to say "Shazam" and accept the power to save his own life. However, Malik has potentially managed to keep his several-times-great grandfather alive, resulting in what will be a volatile new partnership between Black Adam and White going forward.

Now, Screen Rant can exclusively confirm that DC will be sending the exciting Black Adam #1 back for a 2nd printing. Scheduled to go on sale on October 11th, the first issue will feature a brand new DCEU variant cover starring Dwayne Johnson's version of the anti-hero who will be seen in the upcoming Black Adam film coming to theaters October 21st. Here's the exclusive first look at the upcoming cover art from Ben Oliver:

Seeing as how this new series is focused on Black Adam's desire to have his legacy and name redeemed, it looks as though he'll no longer be able to simply trust that Malik will do it for him after his death. Now that he's woken up and supposedly been cured, he'll likely have White helping Black Adam become a better hero, redeeming his own name from his past darkness. This also features some strong synergy with the Black Adam film that will likely see Johnson's take on the character being more on the heroic side of Adam's anti-hero status.

All in all, this new variant featuring The Rock's Black Adam should prove to be a great collector's item for those who see the upcoming DCEU film and those who want to learn more about one of DC's most powerful characters. Coming from the dynamic duo that is Priest and Sandoval, Black Adam #1 is a very entertaining jumping-on point that's certainly earned its 2nd printing. The first issue of Black Adam will return to comic book stores with its new variant cover on October 11th.
