A new Black Adam poster released for the Chinese Lunar New Year gives fans a look at the logos for each of the members of the Justice Society of America. Scheduled for release in July this year, the highly anticipated DCEU film stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as the titular antihero, a predecessor to Shazam! 's Captain Marvel and the first wizard's champion. Johnson's long-term producing partner Hiram Garcia has previously suggested that Black Adam's character was not going to be "softened up for audiences," and his appearance in the DC Extended Universe promises a major shift in the balance of power going forward.

Joining Johnson in his DC debut is an all-star cast who will make up the Golden Age superhero team known as the Justice Society of America or JSA. Created in the 1940s, the JSA was initially established as an alternate superhero team that existed on a parallel Earth to that inhabited by the members of the Justice League. After 1985's Crisis on Infinite Earths comic series, however, all the different realities were merged into one and the JSA became the World War II-era predecessors of the modern-day Justice League instead. The JSA being featured in Johnson's film will be comprised of the DC heroes Hawkman (Aldis Hodge), Atom Smasher (Noah Centineo), Cyclone (Quintessa Swindell), and the enigmatic Doctor Fate (Pierce Brosnan).

Most recently, DC has released some new poster art for the film in celebration of the recent Chinese Lunar New Year. Originally released by DC via the Weibo social media platform, the poster features Black Adam with firecrackers in hand. The bottom of the image also contains logos for each of the film's four JSA members, Hawkman, Cyclone, Doctor Fate, and Atom Smasher. Check out the poster below:

While much of the lead-up to Black Adam's release has, quite rightly, been focused on the titular character, the role that the JSA will play both in this film and the future of the DCEU has become an increasing point of intrigue and speculation for avid DC fans. With Johnson's character already referenced in 2019's Shazam!, it seems apparent that unlike Matt Reeves' upcoming The Batman, the events of Black Adam will take place within the larger DCEU continuity, which has already seen Ben Affleck's Batman form the Justice League. Exactly how the existence of JSA fits into this picture remains to be seen and, perhaps more importantly, what implications it will have on future films in the franchise.

Of course, the DCEU is currently rumored to be facing a major continuity shake-up when The Flash also gets released later this year, with that film expected to borrow many elements from the Flashpoint storyline. As such, it is entirely possible that the version of the JSA that fans are introduced to in Black Adam will not necessarily be the same one that is used by the franchise moving forward, and it too may see alternate versions of the team being formed sometime in the future. Either way, avid DC fans will be keen to see what the first big-screen incarnation of the Justice Society looks like when Black Adam finally hits theaters this July.
