A new video for Black Adam puts the focus on the superpowers of the Justice Society of America (JSA). The hotly-anticipated DC Extended Universe film marks the superhero debut of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as he tackles the role of the titular anti-hero. Johsnon has been attached to play Black Adam since 2014, but the plans for his cinematic introduction have been iterated through several ideas, including one that saw Black Adam appear as a villain in Shazam!. The solo Black Adam film has faced a number of roadblocks during its course of development, but now, it's finally ready to bow on the big screen, chronicling the story of the eponymous Kahndaqian warrior as he escapes his 5000-year-long wrongful imprisonment and unleashes his wrath on to the modern world. In the movie, a large part of the story will be dedicated to the conflict between Black Adam and the Justice Society of America, an amalgamation of morally upstanding superheroes who are alerted by the former's tyrannical ways. The JSA members, Carter Hall/Hawkman (Aldis Hodge), Kent Nelson/Doctor Fate (Pierce Brosnan), Albert "Al" Rothstein /Atom Smasher (Noah Cenitneo), and Maxine Hunkel /Cyclone (Quintessa Swindell) will attempt to negotiate peace with Black Adam and try to make him understand that he can put his powers to better use, but bringing Adam to their side will be no piece of cake, and this is something each member will realize as they take different approaches to handle the anti-hero's brute tactics.Related: How Black Adam's JSA Can Connect To 7 DCEU Movies & Characters

Black Adam News has shared a new featurette for Black Adam on Twitter, and it turns the spotlight n the JSA membership and their superpowers. The video explains the ranks within the JSA while also giving fans a sneak-peak at Hawkman wielding his Thanagarian Mace, Doctor Fate's teleportation and foresight, Atom Smasher's molecular modification, and Cyclone's air-kinesis. Take a look at the video above.

Will The JSA Survive Black Adam

While it is incredible to see one of the first societies from DC Comics come alive in its full glory, the new featurette doesn't necessarily set them up as an equal match against Black Adam. There is a shot in the clip where Adam can be seen taking down all the JSA superheroes simultaneously with his thunderbolts, and this pretty much gives an idea of the power dynamic within the movie. It does make sense for Black Adam to be much more powerful than the JSA superheroes, but as the story unfolds it seems that the JSA might realize that while their individual powers aren't a match against Adam, they can potentially overcome him if they join forces. The ultimate showdown between the JSA union and Black Adam would definitely be the most significant highlight of the movie, one which would determine the future of the character in the DCEU moving forward.

While the tensions between the JSA and Black Adam would reach a boiling point in the movie, it does seem that all the heroes will make it out of the movie alive. One of the goals of Black Adam is to introduce the JSA superheroes to the DCEU and lay down the touchstone for their journeys ahead in the cinematic universe. Black Adam is really investing in the stories of these underrated superheroes, so it would be much of a waste to kill off one or more of these characters when the DCEU can benefit more from exploring their stories individually in future projects. There are already plans for Black Adam spinoffs focusing on the JSA, but whether they come to fruition would largely depend on how Black Adam fares once it releases in cinemas next week.
