Black Adam star Dwayne Johnson teases whether or not any Justice League characters are in the upcoming DCEU movie. The DCEU is about to introduce one of DC Comics' most powerful characters, with Johnson bringing Black Adam to the big screen. After years of his solo project being stuck in development hell, Black Adam will finally open in theaters next month. While Black Adam is traditionally known as Shazam's arch-nemesis, the DCEU is reimagining him as an anti-hero, taking the franchise in a new direction.

Johnson's solo project follows Teth-Adam's grim origin story as a Kahndaq slave whose life is changed forever when he receives godlike powers. Even though Black Adam will take on the DC villain Sabbac and the criminal organization, Intergang, the anti-hero will also get on the Justice Society of America's radar. The Golden Age team, which predates the Justice League, will consist of Hawkman, Cyclone, Atom Smasher, and Doctor Fate as they go after Black Adam.

Since Black Adam will be rooted in the larger DCEU, it leaves the door open for the anti-hero to cross paths with other characters in the interconnected franchise. In a new interview with Fandango, Johnson was directly asked if any Justice League members may show up in Black Adam, especially with the Justice Society coming into play. Johnson remained tight-lipped by neither confirming nor denying and instead shared the following:

"I can tell you that we are going to have to wait and see!"

Which Justice League Members Could Be In Black Adam?

Black Adam and Zack Snyder's Justice League

Ever since Black Adam was greenlit, Johnson has spoken heavily about how his film will forever change "the hierarchy in the DC Universe," specifically calling out the Justice League characters. While there have been rumors about various characters appearing, the door is technically open for any of them. If any Justice League member is in Black Adam, it will more than likely be a cameo rather than a sizable role. It would be a shock if more than one member were in Black Adam unless they managed to keep that spoiler under wraps. If Black Adam features only one Justice League member, the ideal option would be Henry Cavill's Superman, who continues to be rumored over and over again to have some role in this film.

While the DCEU has continued to grow after 2017's Justice League became a critical and commercial failure, it's unclear what the studio is hoping to do with the DC team. However, with Black Adam entering the DCEU, he could be the perfect obstacle that encourages Warner Bros. Discovery to revive the Justice League franchise. Not only would the team have a formidable opponent, but it could also serve as a way to get Shazam involved, allowing him and Black Adam to finally cross paths unless they duke it out in a potential Shazam 3. With less than a month before it opens in theaters worldwide, time will tell if any Justice League players are in Black Adam.
