Aldis Hodge's Hawkman gets a comics accurate look in this DC fan art for his upcoming role in Black Adam. Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam has been in the works for some time now, with the actor first starting to develop the project back in 2008, and he will finally make his DCEU debut next year. Jaume Collet-Serra will direct the film, which is expected go into production in early 2021. Plot details are still being kept under wraps, but Johnson was able to share a few points about Black Adam at DC FanDome in August.

The most exciting DC FanDome reveal was the news that several Justice Society of America members will appear in Black Adam. The lineup includes Atom Smasher (who will be played by Noah Centineo), Hawkman, Cyclone, and Doctor Fate. Up until recently, Black Adam had no confirmed cast members besides Johnson and Centineo. Then, last week there were reports that The Invisible Man star Aldis Hodge was in talks to play Hawkman. Hodge and Johnson confirmed the news soon after, and fans have been alight with excitement about the casting ever since.

As fans await their first official look at Hodge in character, they've been treated to some art imagining his look. This latest piece comes from datrinti and gives Hodge's Hawkman a comics accurate costume. If his movie appearance turns out anything like this, it's safe to say fans will be very, very pleased. Check it out below.

Hodge was previously best known for his roles in Straight Outta Compton and the television show Leverage, but 2020 has featured some notable film roles for the actor, such as his upcoming part in Regina King's One Night in Miami. Black Adam will mark his first foray into the DC Extended Universe, and with a role as prominent as Hawkman, it's safe to say his role could stretch well beyond it. Fans are excited to see Hawkman get brought to the big screen, and Hodge is certainly an excellent pick to step into the part.

This leaves two remaining JSA members to be cast for Black Adam: Doctor Fate and Cyclone. Like any available role in a superhero project, there's a lot of anticipation surrounding these announcements. With production likely starting in the coming months, fans can probably expect these castings to be revealed before then. There were two months in between Centineo's casting and Hodge's, but hopefully it won't take as long for the next two. Eventually, fans will know exactly who they can expect for their cinematic JSA.
