Dwayne Johnson's superpowers will be brought to life with brand-new technology for Black Adam. As one of the biggest movie stars in the world, fans have waited much longer than expected to see Johnson play the DC anti-hero. The wait will finally end in 2022 when Black Adam hits theaters during the summer, and The Rock has repeatedly teased that his introduction to the DC Extended Universe will change the shared universe's hierarchy of power.

Filming on Black Adam recently came to a close with Johnson sharing a video of his wrap speech to the cast and crew who spent months working on the movie during the COVID-19 pandemic. Surprisingly, the production came and went without any unwanted leaks or set photos. The only Black Adam teases fans have had in recent months have come directly from Johnson, which included glimpses of the film's massive scale and destruction, as well as Black Adam's costume. Many are anxious to get a proper look at the film and Johnson's take on the powerful DC anti-hero.

During a recent interview with Collider, president of Seven Bucks Productions Hiram Garcia talked about what fans can expect to see in Black Adam. He teased that Black Adam's powers will be on full display throughout the movie and that they'll look unlike anything else fans have seen before. Garcia revealed that Black Adam is using new technology to bring Johnson's superpowers, especially his flying, to the screen.

"This is a character with amazing abilities. He has super speed, can fly, and has world breaking strength to name a few. We wanted to make sure moviegoers feel that throughout the entire movie. You're not going to see him use super speed just once and then it stops, this is part of his arsenal. It’s common to see abilities fall to the wayside when dealing with characters like that but one of our many goals was to keep continuity there and push the bar in terms of how we do it. For example, the technology we're using to make Black Adam fly has never been done before. It's completely unique. It was critical for us to ensure that it felt special, authentic, and real. Jaume [Collet-Serra] took that to heart. Our special effects' team are Oscar winners, and we certainly put them to work."

While Garcia doesn't get into the specifics of Black Adam's technology, Johnson has teased the film's cutting edge approach recently. He shared a photo of him getting tracking dots placed on him so VFX teams can track his muscle fibers during an action scene. Johnson later elaborated on the technology by sharing that the cameras Black Adam is using can shoot him at 960 frames per second, far higher than the usual 24 fps movies use. How this all translates into Black Adam's powers looking unlike anything else fans have seen before remains to be seen.

Of course, the unique look that Black Adam's flying powers will have could be short-lived. There is no shortage of aerial heroes at this point in the DCEU and superhero movie genre at large. If Black Adam's technology is revolutionary, it won't be surprising to see other studios and movies try and adopt the techniques for themselves. It will also be fascinating to see if the movie uses this technology for any of the Justice Society of America superheroes slated to appear. Hopefully fans will get their first look at Johnson's incredible superpowers during Black Adama's first trailer with this much hype for the technology the movie is using.
