New Black Adam fan art imagines an awesome look for Dwayne Johnson's long awaited DCEU anti-hero. Despite being one of the biggest stars in the world, Johnson has yet to appear in a major superhero movie, though not for lack of trying. Johnson has been working to get a Black Adam movie made for years, but it has been a slow moving process. Progress on Black Adam finally looked like it was being made last year, with a flurry of casting announcements and concept art reveals. Unfortunately, the coronavirus pandemic has complicated matters, and Black Adam was taken off the DCEU's release calendar in October.

Still, if Johnson's passion for the project means anything, it's that Black Adam will get made, even if it takes a bit longer than expected. In regards to a production start, Johnson last said Black Adam could begin filming in the spring of this year, though it remains to be seen if that is holding firm. When it comes to casting, the most recent update came just last month when Quintessa Swindell was cast as JSA member Cyclone. They join previously announced stars Noah Centineo, Sarah Shahi, and Aldis Hodge.

As fans wait to see actual glimpses of Johnson in action as Black Adam, speculative art can help fill the void. The latest piece comes from Bosslogic and creates what just might be the perfect look for the anti-hero. When compared to the official Black Adam concept art, the piece takes on a more realistic and subdued look as opposed to the traditional comic book style. This is one costume fans would likely love to see on the big screen. Check it out below.

So far, art has been the only way fans can see Johnson in costume, and undoubtedly, they're getting impatient. On the plus side, the chance to imagine without any real world designs getting in the way must be wonderful for artists (and if that leads to pieces like the one above, that's a win for everyone). Still, at some point people are going to want to see actual shots of Johnson as Black Adam. If production is still on track to begin in a few months, perhaps Johnson will treat fans to a little sneak peek.

What little information is known about Black Adam indicates the story will explore his origins as a slave 5,000 years ago before showing how he breaks free from the prison that's been holding him ever since. Fans have responded positively to everything Johnson has teased before, and hopefully work on the film can begin soon. Black Adam has been a long time coming, and Johnson deserves the chance to actually don a superhero costume onscreen.
