Warning! Spoilers ahead for Justice League #65!

DC Comics has released a new solicit for Justice League #65, which reveals that Black Adam will appoint himself the leader of the Justice League. Recently, in Brian Michael Bendis' run, Black Adam was inducted into the Justice League. The decision to let him tag along on their missions was not taken lightly. However, it seems that Black Adam has progressed past his old conflicts with heroes like Superman, into becoming a genuine hero. Black Adam has proven himself to be worthy of the power he wields, unlike his use of them before.

On the Justice League's latest mission, the team has found themselves chasing after a powerful foe named Brutus. In Justice League #62, Brutus was beaten to a pulp by the joined forces of the Justice League. Only for Zumbado, the new overarching villain, to show up and give the league hell. What happens next will be a battle of the ages as they take on a literal world killer, as he was the one who destroyed Naomi's planet. Amid this, Black Adam and Superman recover from their short, but brutal fight with Brutus. By the end of the issue, Black Adam talks to Naomi in a comforting manner, just like Superman would do.

DC has revealed the cover art for Justice League #65 by Brian Michael Bendis, Steve Pughand Ivan Plascencia, along with the solicitation for it. So far, Black Adam has proven to be a great hero. However, due to his villainous history, he will have to tread lightly with any major steps he makes. Even if Black Adam doesn't mean anything bad by this upcoming move, it will be a warning sign for the more skeptical Justice League members. Asserting his power and declaring himself the leader will not go down easily. Check out the cover art for the issue below:

Black Adam's bold new move will prove problematic as this might be the thing that could push him out of the Justice League. The Justice League is built on democratic foundations, therefore, elections for leadership would normally be held. Whilst Black Adam takes over as leader, the Justice League are busy as they head into deep space, tracing the "most dangerous new criminal in all the galaxy." This threat has been teased to be a long-lasting villain, akin to Brutus. Therefore, the league will have their hands full, and maybe something during the mission will cause Black Adam to question the team's leadership, resulting in his declaration.

Ultimately, Superman has nearly always led the Justice League and still does. Fans will eagerly anticipate the confrontation between the two as it's clear that Black Adam is not happy. But with Superman being Superman, he's sure to find a resolution to their issue. Additionally, it must be stated that it's unlikely Black Adam would suddenly declare leadership over nothing. Something must have happened to provoke his move. Find out what happens in Justice League #65 when it releases on July 20.
