The December solicitations from DC Comics are here, and an upcoming issue of The Flash reveals big things for the Scarlet Speedster in the midst of the upcoming Endless Winter event, which will see the Justice League face an all new foe known as the Frost King. It looks as though the second chapter of the event will take place in The Flash, seeing Barry Allen in an unlikely team-up with none other than Black Adam, the ruler of Kahndaq.

While there's still very little known about the Endless Winter, apparently the Frost King will be plunging the world into a new magical ice age, and the villain himself will be originating from the age of vikings. The Flash #767 will be coming from writer Andy Lanning with art by Ron Marz, the minds behind the entire Endless Winter event as opposed to the usual creative team behind the current Flash series.

As the cover artwork from Clayton Henry depicts, Black Adam will be involved as well, looking to be saving the Fastest Man Alive from some sort of threat, as the world looks to already be covered in snow by the time the second chapter releases. Here's the cover art and synopsis from DC's solicitation:

“Endless Winter” chapter two! As the world’s heroes rush to stop the freezing conditions running rampant across the globe, the Fastest Man Alive speeds directly into Black Adam. With the planet losing hope, the Flash and Kahndaq’s ruler must find a way to work together, while a story from Black Adam’s past reveals his connection to the threat that now returns to end the world with freezing ice and fearsome frost.

According to the solicitation synopsis, it seems as though Black Adam will play an integral part in the Endless Winter storyline, somehow being connected to the Frost King or perhaps having dealt with the villain in the past. Seeing Black Adam team-up with The Flash should be really cool for fans to witness. One could imagine that the combination of their lightning would be visually stunning and epic. However, Black Adam has always been a largely independent individual, preferring to keep to his own and his country of Kahndaq. Some growing pains will most likely occur before he and the Flash can create any kind of synergy with their abilities.

If Black Adam has a history with the Frost King, it's more than likely that he will be teaming up with the entire Justice League as a whole as the story continues. Adam might see an alliance as his only choice if the Endless Winter threatens his people. In any case, Black Adam will most earn the Flash's trust first if the cover artwork is to be believed. Barry is looking quite blue in the art, which might mean the Black Adam saves his life. One way or other, fans will find out when The Flash #767 releases this December.
