Black Adam, Dwayne Johnson's entry to the DCEU, is in its last stages of filming. The highly anticipated movie is based on the character in the comics, an ancient Egyptian antihero who is looking for redemption. Johnson has been attached to the role since 2014 and was originally pegged to appear in 2019's Shazam! until producers decided to launch the character through a solo film instead.

After heavy delays due to the pandemic, production for Black Adam finally began early this year. Other actors have been announced to complete the cast, with stars like Pierce Brosnan and Noah Centineo joining as members of the Justice Society of America. Johnson also recently announced that the superhero movie will premiere on July 29, 2022. The actor has done so much to drum up excitement for the film, documenting its progress and his intense physical training for the role on social media.

Over the weekend, Johnson revealed that filming Black Adam is nearly complete, with only three weeks left before production finally wraps up. The 49-year-old actor posted a photo of his post-training meal, which he dubbed as "The Black Adam Diet." It consisted of ground beef and brown rice with a portion of fruits and vegetables. According to Johnson, he's been on a strict diet for six months now in preparation for his biggest role to date. Check out his post below:

Johnson mentioned that his daily meals, including water and salt intake, are carefully being monitored to complement his rigorous workouts at the gym. While the wrestler-turned-actor is certainly used to physical conditioning, getting into his Black Adam physique is a completely different process. Just last month, The Rock shared a picture of his ripped body to show that all his hard work is paying off. Admittedly, he stated that he's never prepared so hard for any other project in his entire career.

Soon, audiences will get to see Johnson's efforts on screen as he takes on the mantle of Black Adam. While DC Films has not yet released official looks at Black Adam's costume, fans can expect that The Rock will be able to pull off the look of the famous anti-hero. Amid a stream of superhero movies, Johnson's level of dedication and commitment to his role has indeed raised the bar when it comes to actors portraying bigger-than-life personas. The hype surrounding Black Adam gets bigger by the day, but Johnson is determined to make his debut into the world of superheroes worth the wait.
