In a new video, The Rock's daughter reacts to the concept trailer for his upcoming DC film Black Adam. The film, which arrives in theaters on July 29, 2022, is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, who previously teamed with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson on this year's Jungle Cruise. The film will also star Sarah Shahi, Pierce Brosnan, Noah Centineo, and Aldis Hodge. Although little is known about the actual plot of the film, Brosnan has described Black Adam as an "ensemble piece."

Johnson plays the titular antihero Black Adam, who was introduced in the comics as an archenemy for Shazam (then known as Captain Marvel). Formerly known as Teth-Adam, he is given powers by the ancient wizard Shazam (who appeared in the Shazam films played by Djimon Hounsou). The film will also introduce the Justice Society of America to the DC Extended Universe including Hawkman (Hodge), Cyclone (Quintessa Swindell), Atom Smasher (Centineo), and Doctor Fate (Brosnan). Sarah Shahi will be appearing as Adrianna Tomaz, who marries Black Adam in the comics.

On his Instagram, Johnson shared that his daughter has recently become obsessed with the character, so he showed her the Black Adam concept trailer, which debuted last August. He shared a video of her reaction with his 270 million followers explaining that "unlike Maui from Moana," she does think The Rock and Black Adam as the same person. Her reaction to the concept trailer? "Cool." According to Johnson, he'll "take it." Sometimes it takes a lot more than starring in a multi-million dollar blockbuster to impress one's kids. Given the comments that Zachary Levi has made about wanting to square off against Black Adam, The Rock will not be fighting Shazam in this particular film or in Shazam! Fury of the Gods. However, if Black Adam does well at the box office, there's no way DC will be able to keep them apart forever. Although there is no word on who Black Adam will be fighting, the film also stars Marwan Kenzari, James Cusati-Moyer, Bodhi Sabongui, Mo Amer, and Uli Latukefu.

Pierce Brosnan, Aldis Hodge, and Sarah Shahi have all praised Johnson's incredible work and professionalism during the production of Black Adam. He may have to be content with that for the time being until he does something truly awe-inspiring to earn more than a pity "cool" from his daughter. The movie is now in post-production, as filming wrapped this past July. Hopefully, this means that there will soon be an actual full trailer so he can make another attempt to earn a fully positive reaction.
