UPDATE: Watch the Birds of Prey trailer here.

The Birds of Prey trailer releases on October 1, but what time will it be online? A few weeks ago, Warner Bros. screened a short Birds of Prey teaser trailer in front of IT Chapter Two; in it, Harley Quinn appeared to be Pennywise the Clown before she popped the red balloons. It then turned into a brief teaser with quick glimpses at the cast and the villain, Black Mask. Unfortunately, that trailer never released online.

Starring Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress, Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya, and Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra Cain, along with Chris Messina as Victor Zsasz, Birds of Prey seeks to introduce a new superhero team to the DCEU while also separating Harley Quinn from the Joker. Part of that means bringing in Ewan McGregor's Black Mask. All of this should be teased, at least in some form, in the first Birds of Prey trailer.

The Birds of Prey trailer officially releases on October 1, and unless Warner Bros. suddenly changes their plans, it should be online early in the day. Going based on the times that past trailers had released as well as when the Birds of Prey trailer announcement was made, the Birds of Prey trailer should release at 9 am PDT/12 pm EDT/5 pm BST. Since it's not supposed to be airing during a sports game or morning talk show, like Good Morning America, the Birds of Prey trailer should release online right away.

Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn in Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)

What's interesting is that releasing the first Birds of Prey trailer at the start of October falls roughly in line with WB's new marketing strategy, at least with DC Films. Beginning with Aquaman, WB limited the number of full trailer releases as well as how early they would begin the marketing campaign. In doing so, they attempted to prevent burnout from audiences. Of course, while this new Birds of Prey trailer will be the first one to release online, it won't be the last.

As for what to expect in the trailer, Robbie's Harley Quinn should be prominently featured throughout, along with brief introductions to the rest of the Birds of Prey team. Since McGregor's Roman Sionis hasn't been seen wearing his actual black mask yet, it's possible that it could be teased at the very end of the trailer or saved for a future reveal. Either way, the Birds of Prey trailer will highlight the new characters while also setting the tone for what the movie will be like.
