New Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) movie footage from behind-the-scenes of the DC Comics film features Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) in a new roller derby costume. After joining the, unofficially titled, DC Extended Universe in David Ayer's Suicide Squad, Robbie's Harley Quinn was so well received that Warner Bros. put a bunch of projects focused on the character into development. The first film to move forward, though, is the female-led team-up Birds of Prey from director Cathy Yan and writer Christina Hodson. Birds of Prey isn't a Suicide Squad sequel, but it does continue the story of Harley Quinn.

Joining Robbie in the movie are Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress, Rosie Perez as Gotham City police detective Renee Montoya and Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra Cain - who becomes Batgirl in the DC comics. The female heroes and Harley will go up against the villainous Black Mask (Ewan McGregor) and Victor Zsasz (Chris Messina). Plus, given the title of the movie and set photos, Birds of Prey may also feature the Joker, though it's unclear if Jared Leto will reprise his role from Suicide Squad. Still, Robbie's character is the most well known of the bunch, which explains why Harley Quinn is featured on the Birds of Prey poster front and center. Now, another new look at Harley has surfaced.

In the video titled "WarnerMedia Releases 2018 Diversity and Inclusion Interim Report" posted to YouTube by WarnerMedia, there's a brief clip of Robbie in costume as Harley Quinn on the set of Birds of Prey alongside the film's director, Yan. The clip is roughly at the 1:14 mark in the video below, or see a screenshot or Robbie and Yan above.

Although no official footage has been released online, a costume test video from earlier this year offered fans their first looks at characters like Harley Quinn, Black Canary, Huntress and Victor Zsasz. Additionally, a short Birds of Prey teaser trailer screened in theaters alongside the theatrical release of IT Chapter Two, providing even more insight into the movie, even though the video was never officially released online. Still, fans have seen quite a few new looks at Harley Quinn from the footage and set photos surfacing online - yet not this roller derby outfit. That means there could be plenty more from the movie fans still haven't seen.

Of course, a brief shot of Robbie in costume as Harley Quinn alongside Yan isn't much, and fans of the DC comics characters are no doubt eager to see more from Birds of Prey. With all this new footage surfacing, between the theater-only teaser and this WarnerMedia video, surely a full Birds of Prey trailer isn't too far off. After all, Birds of Prey hits theaters in February. Warner Bros. will no doubt kick off the film's official promotional push soon enough. And with New York Comic Con next week, not to mention Joker hitting theaters, now is a good time to release the Birds of Prey trailer. We'll just have to wait and see if that's what Warner Bros. has planned for Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn).
