Fortnite just teased on Twitter that it might release a Birds of Prey-themed event soon. Fans are speculating this might include a Harley Quinn skin for the battle royale game.

Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation Of One Harley Quinn), the latest installment in the DC cinematic universe, is set for release on February 7. It's the first DCEU movie to get an R rating for violence, language and some allusions to drugs. It will narrate the backstory of Harley Quinn, the Joker's lover and partner-in-crime, and her adventures with the Huntress, Black Canary and Cassandra Cain. For now, the movie hasn't generated as much social media hype as previous superhero titles, so it's forecasted to have one of the lowest box office openings in the DCEU universe.

On January 24, Fortnite's official Twitter account teased that Birds of Prey might be the game's next movie crossover. The Fortnite team replied to a tweet where Warner Bros showcased the Birds of Prey cast, saying "See you soon Harley!" Warner Bros replied by saying "can't wait", with a kissing emoji. Thousands of fans commented this Tweet exchange with much enthusiasm, speculating that Epic Games is going to release a Harley Quinn skin.

This isn't the first time that Epic Games collaborates with DC to provide superhero-themed skins and cosmetic items for Fortnite. Last September, to celebrate Batman Day, the popular free game released two skins for Batman and one for Catwoman, as well as emotes and themed cosmetic itemsFortnite also collaborated with Marvel, creating in-game events to celebrate the release of both Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Fortnite celebrated plenty of other movie and pop culture characters with events and themed skins, including the Imperial Stormtrooper from Star Wars and the Psychos from Borderlands 3.

If Harley Quinn truly makes an appearance in Fortnite, that might contribute to attract attention towards the upcoming Birds of Prey release. The Joker's ex-girlfriend isn't that known among people who aren't die-hard comic book fans. For this reason, seeing her as a skin in the popular battle royale game might encourage the users to discover her story. Hopefully Fortnite will keep collaborating with the most renowned movie franchises to provide unique content to its fans.
