Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) may not have been the biggest box office winner but there was one thing the movie excelled at and seemed to be more focused on: introducing new characters into its own little universe. With many superhero films feeling stagnant and familiar, this one did not at all to audiences.

With a large serving of new characters introduced and stories to build on for the sequel, there is no way that DC would set up that many characters without plans for a sequel. Audiences need to remember that Margot Robbie pitched this as a Hard-R unique girl-power movie and contrary to popular belief it has already made a profit before even going to VOD where it will make more.  Here are some more characters that could pop up in the second one that is undoubtedly coming.

DON'T: Killer Frost

A very unique character that could of course be very interesting in the hands of the writers of BOP, but Frost is handled so well in the Arrowverse. It would seem really off putting to fans of The Flash show if Killer Frost was happening twice at the same time, it isn't like her powers are conducive to the type of Flash meeting Flash crossover from Crisis.

WANT: Captain Boomerang

Something that fans sort of got in the first one when his face was shown on a "Wanted" poster, sort of left them clamoring for more. Now this could all change if he ends up dead in James Gunns' The Suicide Squad so there is that.

If he does survive that ordeal though, seeing this zany character pop up, and interact with other characters before Harley maybe in a confrontational way would make for comedic gold.

DON'T: Batwoman

Similar to the situation with Frost, there does not seem to be a reason whatsoever to introduce a Batwoman, especially since her show is only in its first season on The CW. Ruby Rose is doing a phenomenal job under the cowl and it would take away from her run if there were two going on at the same time. Also attaching "BAT" to anything would probably take away attention from the actual stars of the film which is sort of what went wrong with the original Suicide Squad marketing. Just DON'T!

WANT: Wonder Woman

This interaction just seems like something that would be hilarious and rewarding for fans of the ever-changing DCEU. The way that Birds Of Prey was made definitely makes it seem like it is the black sheep of the DC films, the Deadpool if you will. Operating under a different set of rules and able to do whatever they want, being all about female empowerment it would be interesting to see them interact with Wonder Woman in some way.

DON'T: The Flash

Some things just are not meant to be and should not be meant to be at all, bringing Ezra Miller into this film would not be to the advantage to anyone. The development hell standalone film needs to get itself off the ground before thinking of any other cameos or other sort of roles.

While Ezra has some great comedic chops and could probably hold his own with the cast, there have been so many false starts on his film and his schedule is so stacked already.

WANT: Deathstroke

Fans have been clamoring for the chance to see more of the DCEU Deathstroke ever since Ben Affleck debuted the test footage of Joe Manganiello in costume. Originally set to be the villain of Ben's standalone Batman film, audiences saw him briefly in the heavily retooled Justice League with Lex Luthor which was supposed to setup a form of the "Injustice League." With the DCEU going into a different direction the mood on Manganiello as Deathstroke has not changed, this is the perfect landing spot for him as a possible main villain. Margot Robbie is all about fan service and this seems like an easy way to draw an even bigger audience to the film.

DON'T: Batman

Another Batman showing up in the same Gotham that was established with an aged gritty one would just be extremely strange and not in a good way. Just keep RPatz out of this corner of the universe altogether, he looks great in the cowl but this is not the place for him or his grappling ways. This film has its heroes and they are morally gray, they do not need to have some brooding younger Batsy that they don't recognize arresting them while they are working.

WANT: Black Adam

Okay this one is extremely tricky for one reason, Black Adam is played by one of the most testosterone fueled actors in the entire world who stars in some of the most testosterone fueled movies in all of cinematic history, which is the polar-opposite of Birds Of Prey. Now that is exactly why this could work so well, using Black Adam as an almost fake-out villain with Dwayne Johnson in the role then having it all be a story that Harley is telling about something that she heard about.

This allows for some fourth-wall breaking with Harley and Adam to occur and could be a really funny sequence that allows them to work together when they may have never gotten the chance otherwise.

DON'T: Joker

Sorry Jared Leto but the fans have spoken and also seen Joaquin Phoenix, the jury is out and so are you as JokerA lot may have happened that contributed to the downfall of the Leto version of the infamous Clown Prince of Crime, but fans can all agree that his decision-making on the portrayal was the biggest factor. Considering the fact that a decent chunk of the first film focused on Harley blowing up ACE Chemicals and the rest of the film focused on her landing on her feet after the breakup it does not seem likely but one never knows with DC.

WANT: Poison Ivy

The biggest disappointment during the casting announcements for Birds Of Prey was that every single one came with no news of a casting for Poison Ivy, the twosome has a run in the comics that is amazing and eventually even becomes a couple. Many fans want to see this play out on the big screen much like in the comics, sort of danced around like a playful friendship before they finally give into their feelings. Functioning like a messed up rom-com this could be so interesting in the hands of the writers of Birds Of Prey who thrive on breaking down tropes. If Ivy is announced as a part of the cast of the sequel, the pressure will be on for DC to actually show on-screen the Harley/Ivy relationship so that there is actual LGBTQ+ representation and they should.
