The Commando is one of the several guns and melee weapon-focused classes in Biomutant. Like any of the other classes, the Commando has a specific set of perks associated with their class to pick from and some more generalized perks. The best choices of perks for the class might be the wrong choice for those who like to play it safe.

The Commando's build is more like a special operative and able to handle several enemies completely on their own. Due to this, their build is meant to be a high-risk, high-reward playstyle. This class starts with the Fury perk which causes their ranged weapons to deal 10% more damage in general.

Best Perks for the Commando in Biomutant

Commando Perks:

  • Stimulus (Costs one perk point) - Player's armor and melee damage is increased by 20% when their health drops below 20%.
  • Adrenaline (Costs one perk point) - Player's attack speed with melee weapons is increased by 10% when their health drops below 20%.
  • Shock (Requires two perk points and level seven) - Shotguns have a 5% chance to stun smaller enemies per hit inflicted.
  • Brutality (Requires three perk points and level 15) - Increases critical damage from ranged weapons by 10%.

Based on these perks, the Commando appears to be played as a high risk, high reward character. If this is the way that players want to use the class, all of these perks except for Shock is worth investing in. However, if a player is nervous about letting their health get too low on a higher difficulty of the game, Brutality is the only perk worth putting the points into.

General Perks:

  • Adrenaline (Requires three perk points and level seven) - Player's health regeneration is increased by 40% while in combat.
  • Charmer (Costs one perk point) - Increases the player's chance of Persuasion working in dialogue by one point.
  • Clip Tech (Costs two perk points) - Ranged weapons gain 25% more shots before needing to be reloaded.
  • Gunsmith (Requires three perk points and level 15) - Increases ranged weapon damage by 15%.
  • Ki Energize (Costs one perk point) - Players regain a small portion of Ki Energy after a successful special attack.
  • Luck Out (Costs one perk point) - Increases the player's loot chance by 10%.
  • Mount Mania (Costs one perk point) - Player's biological mounts get an extra 5% increase to their speed.
  • Perfect Reload (Costs three perk points) - Ranged weapons reload instantly and the next clip gains an extra 20% damage.
  • Platting (Costs two perk points) - Increases the armor value given by armor addons by 25%.
  • Technician (Requires three perk points and level seven) - Increases ranged weapon firing speed by 10%.
  • Toytinkerer (Requires two perk points and level seven) - Makes the Automaton's weapon deal 100% more damage.
  • Trigger Tech (Requires two perk points and level seven) - Reduces the reload time on ranged weapons by 33%.
  • Whet (Requires three perk points and level 15) - Increases melee weapon damage by 15%.
  • Wung-Fu Barrage (Requires three perk points and level 15) - Up to five unarmed attacks in a row, players inflict an extra 3% damage for each following hit.
  • Wung-Fu Wonder (Costs two perk points) - The player's unarmed attacks deal an extra 20% damage.

For the more generalized perks, players should decide whether they want to focus more on guns, melee, or have a solid mix. For a more gun-focused build, gaining the Clip Tech, Gunsmith, Perfect Reload, Technician, and Trigger Tech are all well worth the player's time. For a more melee-centric Commando, players should grab Adrenaline, Platting, Toytinkerer, and Whet. While the two Wung-Fu skills could be grabbed, they should only be picked up by a character who uses unarmed weapons, like the Psi-Freak's electric gloves. For a good mix, getting Gunsmith, Perfect Reload, Trigger Tech, and Whet are the most useful.
