The Binding of Isaac: Repentance DLC is out now on Steam and the Epic Games Store and the huge expansion introduces a slew of new content like local co-op, additional playable characters, and fresh enemies. Developed by Edmund McMillen, also known for creating Super Meat Boy, and published by Nicalis, Repentance is the final expansion for the remake which initially released in 2014. While the development of the colossal Binding of Isaac DLC kept fans waiting for a couple of years, Repentance is now available to play on PC.

Publisher Nicalis dropped the launch trailer for The Binding of Isaac: Repentance earlier today celebrating the DLC’s additional content. Repentance will include two new playable characters, eight explorable areas, over one hundred enemies, more than twenty-five bosses, and couch co-op for up to four players. Releasing on the last day of March, the project has managed to hit its launch target which the creators had announced earlier this year.

Though the developer has described this expansion as the final chapter for The Binding of Isaac, it is difficult to be sure considering McMillen made similar statements before Repentance was announced. However, the developer has made it clear that this is the last time the project will be associated with Nicalis following reports that the publishers’ owner, Tyrone Rodriguez, promoted a hostile work environment by using slurs, ghosting developers, and engaging in various problematic behaviors. With The Binding of Isaac: Repentance introducing a surge of new content, fans will have plenty to do while waiting to see if new installments will come to the game in the future.
