Billy Zane has been a regular presence on the big screen since the 1980s, but what is his net worth? Billy Zane wasted no time launching his acting career, with his first movie being Back To The Future. He played one of Biff's henchmen and he followed up with a supporting role in cult horror Critters, where he meets a grisly fate. He went on to parts on shows like Matlock and Murder, She Wrote, before a breakout role in Dead Calm. This creepy thriller found a couple - played by Sam Neill and Nicole Kidman - menaced by Zane's psychotic Hughie on their boat.

Following Dead Calm, Zane became a very familiar face on the big and small screens. He reprised his role in Back To The Future Part II, landed a guest spot on Twin Peaks season 2, and appeared in hits like war movie Memphis Belle, action thriller Sniper and Western Tombstone. He received acclaim for his turn in 1995's Tales From The Crypt Presents: Demon Knight, where he had great fun as a demonic villain. Sadly, Zane's attempts to break into the A-list were ill-fated. He narrowly beat out Bruce Campbell for the title role in comic book adventure The Phantom; while it's since become a cult film it bombed upon release.

Billy Zane's first 1997 project was the poorly reviewed action flick Danger Zone co-starring Robert Downey, Jr, though James Cameron's Titanic was considerably better received. Zane played Cal, the odious fiancee to Rose (Kate Winslet) and did a stellar job playing the villain. Titanic quickly became one of the most successful movies of all time, grossing over $1 billion worldwide. The movie's success is no doubt one reason Zane's net worth is estimated to be $20 million, according to The Richest.

Despite Titanic's overwhelming success, Billy Zane ultimately went back to smaller projects, including John Landis' ensemble Susan's Plan, The Believer starring Ryan Gosling and a memorable cameo in Zoolander. Much of his work from this point on consisted of STV projects, with the most notable being Uwe Boll's BloodRayne, erotic thriller Three and a guest appearance on TV series Charmed. In 2011 he returned to the Sniper franchise for the fourth movie Reloaded and later went on to appear in sixth entry Sniper: Ghost Shooter and Sniper: Ultimate Kill - the only entry to unite all three of the main characters that have appeared in the series.

In recent years, Billy Zane has popped up on shows like Psych and The Boys, returned for Zoolander 2 and cameoed in critically lambasted comedy Holmes & Watson. After years in STV wilderness, it would be great to see a filmmaker recognize Zane's talent and give him a major role that really made use of him. In the meantime, he's set to play Marlon Brando in the upcoming Waltzing With Brando, which should provide a decent challenge.
