Showtime’s Billions is welcoming Janeane Garofalo to its cast. Garofalo has received two Primetime Emmy nominations throughout her career; both were for her role as Paula on The Larry Sanders Show. More recently, Garofalo has appeared on Younger and Broad City. Like Younger and Broad City, Billions is mostly set in New York. The drama series follows United States Attorney, Chuck Rhoades (Paul Giamatti), and his adversary, hedge fund manager, Bobby Axelrod (Damian Lewis).

Garofalo will be joining Giamatti, Lewis, and the rest of the Billions cast for a recurring spot on the show’s fifth season, according to Deadline. She will be portraying the owner of a legal cannabis corporation, named Winslow. The Covid-19 pandemic halted production of season 5 in March of 2020 with only seven episodes already completed. Those episodes aired in late spring of last year, and the remainder of the season will air later in 2021.

Damian Lewis stands with a slight smile in Billions.

In the fifth season of Billions, Rhoades and Axelrod still can’t get along, and Rhoades is also clashing with the district attorney, Mary Ann Gramm (Roma Maffia). Asia Kate Dillon’s character, Taylor Mason, and Maggie Siff’s character, Wendy Rhoades, are prominent players in season 5 as well. Brian Koppelman and David Levien are the showrunners and executive producers for Billions; they created the series alongside Andrew Ross Sorkin. Billions, which first premiered in 2016, has already been renewed for a sixth season.
