The Bill & Ted Face The Music soundtrack is most excellent and sonically righteous. The featured songs drive the main storyline, as Bill and Ted meet their future selves in search of clarity about their musical careers. Bill & Ted Face The Music's soundtrack was supervised by Jonathan Leahy, who previously won a Primetime Emmy Award for his work on the Girls season 6 episode "Goodbye Tour."

Written by Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, Bill & Ted Face The Music opens with the protagonists rocking out at their former step-mother's wedding reception. Now married, Bill Preston (Alex Winter) and Ted Logan (Keanu Reeves) have daughters who appreciate their fathers' musical tastes, as both Thea Preston (Samara Weaving) and Billie Logan (Brigette Lundy-Paine) wear headphones around their necks, and ultimately end up traveling through time just like their dads. Together, the Prestons and Logans collaborate for an epic song that could change the world, and they're joined by some musically-inclined famous friends from the past.

Bill & Ted Face The Music opens with "That Which Binds Us Through Time - The Chemical, Physical and Biological Nature of Love and the Exploration of Meaning Pt 1" - a song with a pretentious title that matches the pretentious nature of the leads' wedding reception performance. When Bill and Ted arrive in the future, they see themselves playing  "Those Who Rock" on open mic night, suggesting that they haven't quite changed the world.

"When the Saints Go Marching In" plays when Thea and Billie arrive in New Orleans to recruit Louis Armstrong for their band. In the final act, "Face the Music (The Song That Unites the Universe)" scores one of the movie's biggest moments. "Story of Our Lives" kicks in during a fan-themed post-movie sequence and Bill & Ted Face The Music's credits are complemented by "Right Where You Belong."

The Bill & Ted Face The Music score was composed by Mark Isham.
