Thor: Love and Thunder is set to feature Gorr the God Butcher, one of Thor's most powerful villains from comics, as the main antagonist of the film. A character known for killing any and all gods he comes across, it's very likely Gorr will display power on a level stronger than most other MCU villains.

As MCU villains have ranged from super soldiers and Infinity Stone users to individuals with god-like power, fans have seen -incredible feats from MCU villains throughout the years, but which of these displays of power are on a whole other level than the rest?

Ultron Withstands a Blast From Thor, Vision, and Iron Man

Although many fans argue that Ultron was very underused and deserved better, the android's power and durability were on full display as he was able to endure a combined blast from Vision using the Mind Stone, Thor using Mjolnir, and Iron Man's repulsors during the climactic battle in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

The fact that Ultron wasn't instantly vaporized by the blast was impressive enough, but tanking something that would take out almost any other character in the MCU displayed incredible levels of durability that only the strongest of MCU villains have shown.

Hela Conquers Asgard

Hela made it known early on in Thor: Ragnarok that she is an extremely powerful villain not to be messed with. Effortlessly taking out the Warriors Three and then laying waste to Asgard's entire army, Hela was able to conquer one of the most powerful of the Nine Realms in only a matter of minutes.

As it is always impressive to see a single character take on droves of opponents, fans were able to quickly see the gravitas of power at Hela's disposal as she proved to be a one-woman army capable of conquering any planet or realm she wished.

Ronan Destroys Xandarian Fleet

Ronan wielding the Power Stone in Guardians of the Galaxy

Although Ronan is not one of the more popular and memorable MCU villains, the Kree warrior proved to be a powerful being strong enough to use the Power Stone. Using just a fraction of the stone's power, Ronan was able to destroy almost an entire fleet of Xandarian ships during the climactic battle in Guardians of the Galaxy.

While using an Infinity Stone is a powerful enough feat in its own right, Ronan proved to be so powerful that he really didn't even need his fleet of ships to cause destruction on such a massive scale and although he would be defeated by the same weapon that granted him such power, it's no doubt that Ronan was (temporarily) one of the strongest MCU villains seen thus far.

Dormammu Beats Doctor Strange (Many Times)

Dormammu's face as seen in Doctor Strange

The ruler of the Dark Dimension, Dormammu was hinted at throughout Doctor Strange as being a nigh-omnipotent being capable of causing destruction on a planetary scale. Knowing this, Doctor Strange still faced off against the villain and was brutally killed many times in their various encounters.

Although it was just his origin movie, Doctor Strange still proved to be one of the most powerful magic users in the MCU. Despite this, Dormammu was able to easily defeat Doctor Strange with absolutely no difficulty which is a huge testament to the insane power at Dromammu's disposal.

Thanos Defeats The Avengers

While his flawed moral reasoning and motivation to "save" the universe was already enough to make Thanos one of the MCU's best villains, the Mad Titan's power made him deserving of his role as the main villain of the Infinity Saga. The third act of Avengers: Infinity War saw almost every single MCU hero try and fail to take down Thanos.

Some heroes were able to put up better fights than others, but Thanos was able to defeat essentially almost every single one of Earth's Mightiest Heroes (and many of them with no difficulty at all) which is a display of power worth taking note of.

Hela Destroys Mjolnir

Hela catches Mjolnir in Thor: Ragnarok.

Although it was shown heavily in the trailers for Thor: Ragnarok, Hela destroying Thor's trusty hammer Mjolnir definitely lived up to its expected shock value as neither fans nor Thor himself could believe that Mjolnir could be destroyed so easily.

Mjolnir was shown in the MCU as being impossible to wield by individuals not worthy, much less something that can be destroyed so the fact that Hela was able to destroy the hammer not only served as a great way to introduce the character but also display her extraordinary power as the Goddess of Death.

Scarlet Witch Kills The Illuminati

When the Illuminati were introduced in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, fans were not only blown away by the introduction of many new characters such as Black Bolt, Professor X, and Mr. Fantastic but also by the sheer power of the roster.

Even though the superhero team featured some of the strongest characters in the MCU, a villainous Scarlet Witch took on and defeated the entire Illuminati. Displaying levels of strength to take on brute powerhouses such as Captain Marvel while also having the mental capabilities to defeat the likes of Professor X, Scarlet Witch showed to be a terrifying and multiversal threat in the MCU.

Surtur Destroys Asgard

Thor is known for going up against some of the toughest opponents in the MCU, but it's very likely that the God of Thunder would meet his match when facing Surtur and his strongest form. The end of Thor: Ragnarok saw Surtur live up to his claims of destroying Asgard as the fire demon quite literally grew to the size of a mountain and used his giant fire sword to obliterate Asgard, taking out Hela in the process.

Defeating Hela would be a impressive enough feat in its own right, but completely destroying an entire realm is a display of power that many MCU villains couldn't even dream of matching.

Ego Almost Takes Over The Entire Universe

Ego showed fans the incredible level of power the Celestials have at their disposal when he almost achieved his goal of wiping out all life in the universe during Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Seeing glimpses of planets starting to become engulfed by the seeds of himself placed on every planet, fans saw a unique and terrifying power the likes of which haven't been seen before in the MCU.

While many MCU villains tend to rely on Infinity Stones or other weapons to achieve such high levels of power, Ego was able to almost rewrite the universe as a whole all by himself without the use of any aid which is a display of power underrated by many fans of the MCU.

Thanos' Snap

Thanos Avengers infinity war Snap not about resources theory

While many comic book fans may have seen it coming, Thanos' snap was one of the most shocking moments in superhero movie history, but also displayed power on a scale that many fans and characters in the MCU still can't comprehend.

Controlling the power of all six Infinity Stones and achieving a power unmatched by any other character in the MCU, Thanos was able to eliminate life on a universal scale which is a feat of power that will most likely never be topped in the MCU.
