Will Netflix move forward with The Big Show Show season 2 - and if so, when will it release and how will the story continue? Since premiering on April 6, 2020, the family sitcom featuring WWE superstar Big Show has been a major hit, ranked highly in Netflix's Top 10 most-watched titles.

The Big Show Show season 1 stars Paul Wight as himself, the Big Show, a seven-time world champion. In the fictional Netflix series, based on its subject's real life, Big Show lives in Florida with his second wife, Cassie (Allison Munn), and two children, Mandy (Lily Brooks O'Briant) and J.J. (Juliet Donenfeld). Life as a father becomes a little more complicated when Big Show's oldest daughter Lola (Reylynn Caster) from his first marriage leaves Minnesota and moves in with her dad. Created by Josh Bycel and Jason Berger, The Big Show Show season 1 on Netflix consists of eight episodes, and features Jaleel White in a supporting role.

In the penultimate episode of The Big Show Show season 1, Paul surprises everyone upon announcing a WWE comeback. Meanwhile, J.J. learns that Lola has been thinking about returning to Minnesota. In The Big Show Show season 1 finale, the title character experiences a major life epiphany after being struck across the head with a chair. Here's everything we know so far about The Big Show Show season 2 on Netflix.

The Big Show Season 2 Renewal

Netflix hasn't officially greenlit The Big Show Show season 2. The streaming service typically waits three to six weeks before making renewal or cancellation decisions after new seasons release. Due to the immediate popularity of this first season, expect The Big Show Show season 2 to be officially ordered by the end of May 2020.

The Big Show Season 2 Release Date

Assuming that Netflix orders The Big Show Season 2 sooner than later, new episodes will most likely release around the same time next year (barring production delays due to the current coronavirus pandemic). Just as the original season's release aligned with WrestleMania 36, the second batch of episodes will presumably coincide with WrestleMania 37 in Los Angeles. So, we'll predict that The Big Show Show season 2 will release on Friday, March 26, 2021.

The Big Show Season 2 Story

Paul Wight in The Big Show Show Season 1 on Netflix

In The Big Show Show season 1 finale on Netflix, Paul imagines what his daughter's lives would be like if they didn't have his guidance. He worries about Mandy and J.J.'s academic pursuits, along with the thought of Lola leaving for Minnesota. Of course, Big Show also wants to please his wife Cassy, and realizes that she needs him more than ever while developing her real estate business. And so Big Show ends his WWE comeback and returns home. The Big Show Show season 1 concludes with "The Rumble in the Rec Room," followed by a special family moment scored by The Zombies' "This Will Be Our Year."

The Big Show Show season 2 may feature more personal-professional conflict, as Paul embraces his fame and WWE persona but tries to settle into a relatively normal life. At home, he'll need to keep an eye on the wild child J.J., along with the perceptive Mandy - a middle child who seems to balance out the familial dynamics when Cassy gets overwhelmed. Meanwhile, Big Show will grow closer with Lola and become either the scariest hockey dad in town, or perhaps the most supportive one (probably both). Expect The Big Show Show season 2 on Netflix to be a popular destination for celebrity cameos, certainly for professional wrestlers.
