Whitney Way Thore is being dragged for citing that she has an eating disorder. The My Big Fat Fabulous Life star has been very open about her personal struggles, but fans are not accepting the information in kind.

Thore is all about body confidence and always preaches that everyone should love the skin they are in. She recently posted a selfie of herself in a bright-colored swimsuit to drive the idea home to fans. She was diagnosed with PCOS and has since been fighting a battle with her weight. The dancer went from a size 12 to morbidly obese very quickly, but she didn’t let her diagnosis and weight gain stop her. Her story on TV has given hope to many of her followers who are dealing with the same types of problems. Fans watched as she contemplated having gastric bypass surgery after her fiance cheated on her, but she currently has bigger fish to fry.

Viewers of My Big Fat Fabulous Life haven’t been too kind to Thore in recent months as she has all but disappeared from her NoBS workout group and dropped the ball in other departments. But some have taken hating on her too far as they posted about her eating disorder on Reddit. Many feel she doesn’t have anorexia, with one uneducated commentator writing, “Riddle me this: Why does Whitney insist on insisting she has A-Typical Anorexia Nervosa.” Anyone who took a health class in high school would know that just because she doesn’t look like a stick doesn’t mean she doesn’t have an eating disorder.

Not too long ago, Thore took to her Instagram to share with followers that she had struggled for a very long time when it came to having a healthy relationship with food. In her post, she wrote, “I've also been diagnosed with atypical anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and generalized anxiety disorder.” The reality star made it clear that if any of her followers felt the same way to know that they were not alone in the battle. The idea that trolls could think they knew better than doctors and a diagnosis is laughable.

Thore has always been as authentic as she could while participating in the show and allowing viewers into her life. Everyone has experienced a very difficult year, and it was unkind for anyone to judge the TLC star on her struggles. Maybe these critics should take a page out of the My Big Fat Fabulous Life star’s book and take the high ground while educating themselves on what an eating disorder truly is before they try to pass judgment.
