Popular 90 Day Fiancé franchise star Big Ed is on a fitness journey, and he has been helping his fans with some weight-loss tips that don't sound credible or promising. Viewers may know the San Diego native from his appearance on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days and 90 Day: The Single Life. Ed first debuted on the show with Rosemarie Vega, but she broke up with him toward the end of the season. After splitting from Rose, Ed decided to transform his physical appearance to look more attractive and get noticed by the ladies.

During 90 Day: The Single Life season 1, fans saw him hire a fitness trainer and work out really hard to become a more attractive version of himself. Just a few months after kickstarting his weight-loss journey, the former photographer Ed had lost 18 pounds. He posted a video from the top of Cowles Mountain and claimed he would become a big deal in the upcoming months. Fans who used to criticize Ed for his clout-chasing behavior applauded him for working on himself. However, they were soon disappointed to see him share some controversial weight-loss advice on social media.

Last year, Ed claimed that he had dropped 25 pounds by working hard at the gym. He posted a video from his fitness center to show off his newly transformed physique. In the video, Ed also shared a piece of advice with 90 Day Fiancé viewers who are also trying to lose weight. He said that he usually consumes energy drinks before working out, which helps him stay energetic throughout the workout. But fans who are into health and fitness called out the 57-year-old reality star Big Ed for sharing a seemingly bad weight-loss tip. They argued that energy drinks contain high sugar content, which can ruin his weight-loss progress.

Ed also shared that he wears a slimming belt called a neoprene wrap while working out. He claimed that the elastic band has helped him lose weight; that's why he never forgets to wrap it around his waist during his workout sessions. But many 90 Day Fiancé fans argued such belts don't provide a permanent waist-slimming effect. Although Ed was probably trying to help his Instagram followers with weight-loss advice, he was trashed for sharing an ineffectual tip.

Since Ed is adapting to a new healthy lifestyle, he is only allowing himself to eat red meat once a month. He is happy to give up on meat because his blood sugar level is now normal. But a fan expressed that Big Ed is going overboard with his fitness journey, and he will eventually fail to lose weight. The comment read, "Most people who go to extreme measures in the beginning of a lifestyle change with diet and exercise they fail." Even though Ed has shared some questionable weight-loss tips with 90 Day Fiancé fans, they are proud to see him grinding every day at the gym and crushing his fitness goals.
