Big Brother has been on for nearly 23 years, but had quite the variety of winners over the years. Although fans may think it would be so cool to apply to be on the show, there are quite a few requirements involved in the lengthy application process. One of the many requirements includes being at least 21 years old. Although there is a minimum age for houseguests, there is no maximum age as long as the individual is considered to be in a healthy state both physically and mentally.

With that being said, there is essentially no maximum age for contestants. Any longtime viewer knows that there is typically at least one older contestant on each season, especially amongst the newer casts. When it comes down to it, age is but a number as it is mainly about how one can compete both physically and mentally that distinguishes their potential chances of winning the half a million-dollar grand prize. While some may think being taller would be an advantage it can sometimes be a disadvantage, which is why the past winners have not only varied in ages but in heights as well.

Considering the show has an age requirement of 21 years old, the youngest winner can be no younger than 21 years old. It took no time for a youngster to win. BB1's winner Eddie McGee was only 21 years old. It was not until until season 14 when another 21-year-old won. That winner was superfan Ian Terry, who later returned for the recent All Star season. Taking the place for second youngest was BB5's Drew Daniel, who was 22 years old. BB11's Jordan Lloyd, BB17's Steve Moses and BB19's Josh Martinez were all just 23 years old when they won. Hayden Moss of BB12, Nicole Franzel of BB18 and controversial player Jackson Michie of BB21 were all 24 years old when they changed their lives forever.

Fan-favorite player, BB10 winner Dan Gheesling, was 25 the only time he won the game. Season 3's Lisa Donahue, who was the first female to win, was 26 years old at the time. Maggie Ausburn from season 6 as well as Rachel Rielly of season 13 and season 15 winner Andy Herren were all 27 years old. BB 4's Jun Song became $500,000 richer at 28 years old. Season 2 winner Will Kirby is the last winner to make it on the winners under 30 list. He was 28. BB9's Adam Jasinski, BB16's Derrick Levasseur, BB20's Kaycee Clark and most recent winner BB22's Cody Calafiore all kicked off their 30s by becoming a half a million dollars richer. The oldest winners include BB7's Mike Boogie (36) and BB8's "Evil Dick" Donatio (44). Of the known winners' heights, Jordan and Nicole were the shortest at 5'2" and 5'3" while Eddie was the tallest at 6'3". The rest averaged in heights from 5'7"-6'2".

One of the most exciting parts of watching a new season of Big Brother is getting to know the new group of houseguests. With some disappointing casts in the past, fans have some high expectations for the casting for the upcoming season. Big Brother 23 is set to air this summer; however, a premiere date has yet to be announced.
