As the 22nd season of Big Brother begins, fans continue to engage in a healthy debate over the show's best seasons. You probably won't get too far in such a debate, however, without mentioning Big Brother 10. The popularity of Big Brother 10 persists for a number of reasons, but a large part of it is due to the success of winner, Dan Gheesling. Of course, Dan could not have won without the assistance of his right-hand-man, Memphis Garrett. Memphis finished as the runner-up that season, but managed to leverage his time on the show into several other successes outside the Big Brother house. With a return to the Big Brother house on the horizon, it's time to take a closer look at what the 37-year-old has been up to since playing Big Brother in 2008.

Memphis and Dan controlled a vast majority of the decisions made throughout Big Brother 10. The duo identified themselves as "The Renegades" and managed to hide in plain sight... until they arrived at the final two. Dan was ultimately rewarded for his competition wins and charismatic relationships, but the duo still accounted for one of the more competitive final twos in Big Brother history. While Dan went on to appear in Big Brother 14 (and to cement himself as an all-time great), Memphis detached himself from the reality series. Garrett chose to focus on his family and his business ventures.

Of course, Memphis owes a portion of his success to his time on Big Brother. According to Fort Lauderdale IllustratedMemphis returned from the Big Brother house looking for a promotion with his employer, SBE. The company granted him the opportunity, but as he moved through different positions, he realized he could take matters into his own hands and open up his own properties. Now, he owns and operates several restaurants in South Florida, including a hot dog shop and a juice bar. He has expanded his ventures nationwide, while raising his son River with his wife Ashley.

Memphis may not engage with the Big Brother community very often, but he has maintained a close friendship with Dan. Memphis was even the Groomsman at Dan's wedding!

Memphis' Big Brother legacy is inextricably tied with Dan's, and that's a tall order. Dan remains one of the greatest to ever play, but the roots of his Big Brother journey rest with his good friend, Memphis. Now, as Memphis prepares for a return to the Big Brother house, he has an opportunity to remind viewers why he and Dan worked so well as a team. Garrett can showcase the talents that made him so successful, outside of Big Brother, in the years since he last graced our television screens.
