Big Brother 24 is currently airing and features a brand-new set of memorable houseguests. But, perhaps the most memorable player of all time is Derrick from Big Brother 16. Derrick only played for one season, but had a lot of wild times in the house.

Derrick is commonly called one of the best players ever due to his calm and mature demeanor. However, there were times throughout the season when Derrick was a little unhinged. Here are a few times when Derrick showed how chaotic he was.

Creating Alliances

There were lots of alliances created within the first few weeks of Big Brother 16. Derrick was in the middle of most of them.

Derrick had a lot of areas covered in the house. He had the Bomb Squad, which turned into the Detonators. He also had his final two deals with Cody and Victoria. He also had Team America with Frankie and Donny. Derrick had a lot of people who believed he was with them, but he maneuvered through his loyalties so no one suspected a thing.

Not Nominating Devin Shepherd

In week three, Devin was the obvious house target. Derrick did not nominate him, as the better option was to backdoor him.

After one of the most chaotic veto ceremonies in the history of Big Brother, Devin was the house's target. After Derrick won the HOH competition, Devin pulled him aside and said he should nominate him. Derrick, the smart player that he was, knew he could not let Devin have two opportunities to take himself off the block. Therefore, he lied straight to his face and said he thought about nominating other people. Devin eventually went home this week.

Starting A Rumor About Zach Rance

One of Team America's missions was to create a rumor that one of the houseguests is related to a former player. They decided that Zach would be Amanda Zuckerman's cousin from the season prior.

They made the plan that Paola told Donny before she left that Zach was related to Amanda. The rumor spread like wildfire. Derrick did not have to do much, as the other houseguests spread it for him. In the end, Zach did not deny that he was related to her.

Drawing Skittles

In week eight, the Detonators were in power once again and needed pawns to go on the block. No one volunteered, so Derrick helped make the decision to pick skittles out of a hat to see who would go up.

This was a highly unorthodox way of picking nominees. Derrick thought about nominating people who have not been on the block before, but he decided to let the skittles pick. Ultimately, Christine was picked to sit next to Donny, who won America's favorite houseguest, and Cody and Caleb were the other two nominees.

Week Seven House Meeting

Big Brother 16's House Meeting

This week was wild in Big Brother 16 as Frankie had just won the Battle of the Block by himself. Derrick saw some cracks in his game begin to form, but he called a house meeting to fix them.

Zach told Victoria about the Detonators alliance for no particular reason at all. He anticipated that she would tell Derrick he told her, so Zach went to Derrick and said that Nicole told Victoria. Derrick could have easily calmed Victoria down since they were very close, but he called a house meeting instead. Zach straight up said he lied to Derrick and everyone was mad at Zach, and it made Derrick look good.

Saboteur

One of Team America's missions was to pick a piece of clothing from each houseguest and hide it. This resulted in a house-wide search for the clothes.

When everyone realized their clothes were missing, they started to place the blame on Zach. Derrick let Zach take the fall as everyone suspected he was a saboteur. That became a catalyst for Zach being evicted this week, which was one of the biggest betrayals between guys in show history. Derrick got away with this mission since no one suspected it was him and Team America.

Targeting Nicole Franzel

In week 10, Derrick finally considered if it was time to backdoor Frankie. However, Nicole said something that seemed innocent, but Derrick took it as a threat.

Derrick thought that he could trust Nicole for one more week and take out Frankie. However, Nicole told Derrick that she reminds him of Dan Gheesling, who is one of the best players of all time. Immediately, Derrick knew he cannot have her tell other houseguests about this, so he turned his target back to Nicole. If other houseguests knew that he played a similar game to Dan, his game would be ruined.

Evicting Christine Brecht

Christine was the second member of the Detonators to be evicted. The other members suspected her of playing both sides of the house.

Derrick thought that Christine was trying to win over jury votes with Nicole and Donny while they were in the house. So, when the double eviction happened in week 10, he decided to vote her out. He assumed this was the right decision when Christine was booed when she walked out. This made everyone question Christine's behavior the whole season.

Mouse In The House

Big Brother 16's Mouse in the House

One of team America's last missions was to convince the remaining houseguests there was a rodent in the house and stay up all night trying to catch it.

This came at an inopportune time as the houseguests just cleaned the kitchen. However, this caused a big commotion inside the house as everyone bought the idea that there was a rat in the kitchen. Everyone had different plans to try and catch it, as they were all fully invested. Eventually, everyone stayed up until six in the morning, which meant Team America had won the mission.

Pre-Gaming

After Big Brother 16, Derrick was also chaotic. He was involved with a pre-gaming rumor for Big Brother 22.

He almost played this season but decided against it due to family obligations. There were rumors that he called Cody and Nicole and told them to work together. This caused an uproar in the Big Brother community. A lot of fans thought that this was unfair and against the rules. Cody and Nicole did eventually work together inside the house until Cody evicted Nicole at the final three.
