The mantra of Big Brother is to "expect the unexpected," which means elements of the game are often unpredictable. This also makes it difficult to determine who has the best chance of winning the game. While one individual or a dominant Big Brother alliance might be running the house one week, a twist in the game or conflict in the house can make the situation do a complete 180 and shift the power in a different direction.

With that said, sometimes it only takes a few hours or episodes of the show to get a feel for which players have a good chance at winning—or at least making it far in the game—and which are likely to be among the first to go home.

Xavier Prather

Xavier seems like the player who thinks he's being clever by pretending to be a bartender when he's really a lawyer, but houseguests will probably see through that very quickly.

Xavier is more likely to enter a showmance than he is to win the game, as evidenced by him already pinpointing almost every single woman in the house as being "cute," "hot," or "pretty," and noting that he's "in trouble.'

Tiffany Mitchell

Tiffany will probably be a good confidant for many in the house, but she might end up being the "mom" given both her age—she's the oldest competitor this season—and her status as a single mother to a teenage son.

Given Tiffany's strict workout regimen as evidenced in her introductory video, she might be able to win competitions. But, she could have trouble with a social game without an ability to truly relate to the other players, some of whom are half her age.

Sarah Steagall

Something about Sarah makes her seem like the first-person houseguests will turn to use as a "pawn" in the game, and, as other players have said in previous seasons, the pawns sometimes go home.

She might end up having a good social game, but, in the end, the others might just see her as expendable

Alyssa Lopez

Alyssa is another player likely to enter a Big Brother showmance, and, whether beloved or cringe-worthy, it could end up distracting her and preventing her from getting as far in the game as she might otherwise have made it. Indeed, her initial flirtation with Christian put a target on her back during the first week.

She admitted in her intro video that she has trouble hiding her true emotions on her face, and this could end up being her undoing if her facial expressions give away what she's really thinking when she's trying to lie to an enemy in the house.

Brent Champagne

Brent seems more likely to end up in a showmance than he does to win the game. He comes across as a guy who might butt heads with others, making a few strong allies but more enemies.

Even though he opened up about his troubled past, proving that he shouldn’t be judged, he ranks near the bottom of the list. Chances are, eventually, he might rub a few others the wrong way.

Hannah Chaddha

Hannah is a wildcard in the game, as it's unclear how she will fare. Who will she align with and will she reveal to the houseguests just how smart and accomplished she is, or play her intelligence down?

Because there are so many unknowns about her personality and overall strategy, Hannah ranks among the bottom.

Azah Awasum

Azah will probably be well-liked in the house, but how she will perform in competitions remains to be seen. She might be a strong player, but strong enough to win? It's too tough to tell.

She is a very sociable person, but she seemed thrown by not being able to follow her initial plan, which was to target the first HoH when that person, Frenchie, ended up being on her team. This could throw her off her game.

Kyland Young

Kyland was the first to capture the hearts of houseguests and viewers with the reveal that he works with disadvantaged children, trying to help them get good educations. While he comes across as loyal, trustworthy, and someone who will probably end up in a dominant alliance, he still doesn't have the personality that suggests that he'll be the winner of the game.

Kylan might be that "too nice" player who is afraid to make the big moves that would get him to the end. Nonetheless, he still ranks among the top 10 in the house, which counts for something.

Whitney Williams

Whitney comes across as very down-to-earth and likable, so chances are she'll get along just as well with the ladies as she will with the guys and will not be seen as a threat in the game.

If Whitney doesn't get caught up in a showmance, as she mentioned could happen, she has the potential to go far. She could play a game similar to Nicole Franzel, under the radar only to emerge near the end.

Derek Xiao

Derek might very well be the strong, silent type in the house who quietly listens to what's going on, takes in all of the information, and strikes when it makes sense.

Derek is predicted to be a "floater," one of the unique vocabulary terms used in Big Brother to describe a player who sits in the background while others make big moves. But, if he plays both sides as suspected and does it well, it could get him far in the game.

Brandon "Frenchie" French

If history repeats itself, the person who emerges as a leader right from the get-go tends to do well for the rest of the season. Fans most recently saw it with both Cody Calafiore and Jackson Michie, who won early competitions in their respective seasons and went on to win the entire show.

Frenchie has already proven himself to be smart, calculating, strategic, and good at competitions. With that said, it can go one of two ways for the farmer. Will Frenchie have a good trajectory like early leader Cody Calafiore or a bad one like early leader Cody Nickson? It's still up in the air.

Britini D'Angelo

A ball of energy, Britini is that player who brightens a room whenever she walks into it. If anything, the houseguests will want her around simply because she lifts spirits.

But, she shouldn't be underestimated, either. Given her background in karate, her balance, endurance, and the fact that her competitive nature is probably off the charts, she might very well prove to be not only a social, but also a physical threat. She could even join the ranks of the most prolific competition winners ever in Big Brother.

Derek Frazier

It's clear that Derek loves to laugh, loves people, and can get along with just about anyone. So, chances are he will make it far. Will he be in a dominant alliance that will join the most successful alliances ever on Big Brother to date? That remains to be seen.

Nonetheless, he will probably be the person who isn't perceived as a threat and thus is left alone for a while until he makes it close to the end, or even wins.

Claire Rehfuss

Claire seems to have a good combination of smarts, likeability, strategic gameplay, and the ability to win competitions; she not only won the first competition among her set of four players who entered the house together, but her team also placed second in the first HoH competition.

Something about Claire screams "leader," so she has a really good chance of winning this season thanks to her drive, personality, and supposed easy-going personality.

Christian Birkenberger

Christian Birkenberger on Big Brother 23

Christian came out of the gate as a strong player, winning the first competition to become one of the four leaders in the house who could compete for HoH. He then went on to win the first Wild Card competition. It's clear he will be a physical threat and likely join the list of Big Brother's most impressive competition beasts.

While he might not be liked by everyone in the house, Christian has the chance of becoming the leader of a dominant alliance and someone who everyone can trust, and tnd this might help push him all the way to the end.
