Big Brother 13 winner Rachel Reilly, who is pregnant, was trying to celebrate her birthday when she got unfairly attacked for her reaction to Evel Dick Donato saying the n-word in a video. This has been a very happy year for Rachel, despite all the concerns that the world is facing with the COVID-19 pandemic. She is still happily married to the love of her life, BB12 and BB13 co-star Brendon Villegas. Together, they're raising their beautiful daughter, Adora Borealis, who is currently 4 years old. In May 2020, Rachel announced that she was pregnant with their second child.

Just when Rachel Reilly announced her pregnancy, rumors surrounding Big Brother 22 being an All-Stars season started to ramp up. According to Rachel, she did get a call from the producers wanting to cast her, but she was already pregnant at the time. Considering that the season would start late and run until October, Rachel would be very far into her pregnancy (like she is now) while competing on the season. Overall, that wouldn't be safe for her or the baby. Still, reading and listening to Rachel's commentary on BB22 has been one of the most entertaining parts of the show this year.

Unfortunately, the timing wasn't on Rachel Reilly's side when Paul Abrahamian leaked the video of Evel Dick saying the n-word during a Big Brother live-stream that included Rachel and Elissa Slater. Some fans are well-aware that Rachel and Elissa told Evel Dick that he couldn't say the n-word, but many fans only watched the short clip shared by Paul and remain oblivious to Rachel and Elissa's full reaction during that live-stream. Nonetheless, the short clip went viral on Friday, October 16, which happened to be Rachel's birthday. As seen in the Instagram pictures shared by Rachel (below), the family went to visit the 3DAR Trick Art Museum in Santa Monica, California. With that said, she still saw all the negative comments that were sent her way. And on that same Friday, despite it being her birthday, Rachel decided to quit Twitter.

There's always a case that can be made about white allies standing up more firmly for people of color in situations like the one that Rachel and Elissa found themselves in. On the other hand, it was clear that the sisters were caught completely off-guard by Dick Donato's use of the n-word (and subsequent justification of using it). It is also clear to the people who watched the rest of the live-stream that Rachel and Elissa did react to it, did tell Evel Dick that it was wrong, and did shut down the live-stream not too long after. Their initial reaction - Rachel's nervous smile and Elissa's confused silence - are understandable for celebrities being interviewed on a talk show who have to suddenly figure out what to do about a host who is acting inappropriately.

It is unfortunate that this all went down during Rachel's birthday, and during a time when she's so close to giving birth to her second child. That said, it's important that people are willing to keep having these tough conversations that concern race in the United States, and Evel Dick should be held accountable for many of the things that he has said over the years.
