Big Brother 18 winner Nicole Franzel is taking on the challenge of learning how to speak Spanish for her husband Victor Arroyo and their newborn son Arrow. Nicole and Victor first met while competing together on BB18. This was Nicole's second time on Big Brother while it was Victor's first and only appearance in the series.
Even though Nicole and Victor were not in a showmance while competing on the show, they started to date when their season came to an end. In March of 2020, Nicole and Victor tied the knot in Florida after postponing their wedding numerous times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Two months prior to their big day, the couple announced they were expecting their first child together. Then, Nicole and Victor became first-time parents in July.
As Nicole and Victor adjust to parenthood together, they are already starting to think about their son's future. Nicole took to her Instagram story Sunday night to share what she plans to do for both Victor and baby Arrow. Since Victor is bilingual in both English and Spanish, the couple wants Arrow to learn both languages as well. Since Nicole doesn't speak Spanish, she plans on learning the language now for both Victor and Arrow. She said, "I want to learn Spanish because my husband's first language is Spanish." Victor could be heard laughing at Nicole in the background of the video. The new mom was holding baby Arrow as she recorded the video.
Nicole joked that since both Victor and Arrow will be speaking Spanish, she "can't have him and his dad talking and [her] not understanding." In addition, Nicole also wants to learn the language so she can communicate better with Victor's family, who mostly speaks Spanish. Before Nicole met Victor, she had taken Spanish courses in college. However, she did not learn much nor did she remember anything from the class. When she mentioned those classes in the video, Victor could once again be heard laughing in the background, to which Nicole replied, "Exactly." In any case, this apparently is something that Nicole has wanted to do for a "very long time." Since Victor and Nicole want back-to-back babies, Nicole is already planning ahead.
The couple will more than likely be teaching all of their kids how to speak both languages. If Nicole doesn't learn Spanish herself, she'll definitely be feeling a little left out as she questions what her kids and husband are talking about. Luckily for her, she has quite some time until Arrow and his future siblings are having full conversations in Spanish with their dad Victor.
