Houseguests can only win Big Brother by convincing a jury of their peers to vote for them as the most deserving player to take home the show's $500,000 grand prize. This usually means that a contestant must have played an incredible game during that respective season, but there are more than a few ways for one to build up a solid track record on the show. For many players, the easiest metric to build up a solid track record is to win as many competitions as possible. Alas, there have also been winners who got celebrated for their social game and manipulation skills alone.

Every year, a total of nine (previously seven) houseguests get sent to the Big Brother jury house to wait for the season to arrive at a Final 2. However, these jury members do not watch the show on TV. Instead, they must rely on each other's experiences on the show - as well as particular scenes from the season that the producers allow them to watch - to make up their minds regarding which player deserves to win the grand prize. Because most of the best players are typically responsible for a significant number of evictions, it can be pretty hard to convince bitter contestants to vote for you after you have screwed them over in the game.

It is not surprising that the houseguest with the most jury votes to win the show is one of the two Big Brother winners with a unanimous jury verdict: Cody Calafiore's unanimous 9-0 on BB22. The only other BB winner who earned herself nine jury votes is BB3's Lisa Donahue (9-1). Then, a total of three winners are tied in second place with seven votes: BB10's Dan Gheesling (7-0), BB15's Andy Herren (7-2), and BB16's Derrick Levasseur (7-2). Tied for third place, with six jury votes, are BB4's Jun Song (6-1), BB7's Mike Boogie (6-1), BB9's Adam Jasinski (6-1), BB14's Ian Terry (6-1), BB17's Steve Moses (6-3), and BB21's Jackson Michie (6-3).

With that said, Big Brother juries aren't always so unanimous about which houseguest deserves to win the show. Many times, this jury verdict is a pretty close call, which means that a winner takes home the $500,000 grand prize after receiving not that many votes. Winners who received five votes from the jury members include BB2's Will Kirby (5-2), BB8's Dick Donato (5-2), BB11's Jordan Lloyd (5-2), BB18's Nicole Franzel (5-4), BB19's Josh Martinez (5-4), and BB20's Kaycee Clark (5-2). In last place are the few contestants who got to win the show with just four jury votes: BB5's Drew Daniel (4-3), BB6's Maggie Ausburn (4-3), BB12's Hayden Moss (4-3), and BB13's Rachel Reilly (4-3).

With Big Brother 23 looming on the horizon, the fans can only wonder how a new batch of players will handle their responsibilities as potential jury members. Coming off of Cody's unanimous jury vote win on BB22, it is possible that these new houseguests will want to shake things up a little.
