While Big Brother may be known more for its backstabbing and cutthroat strategies, the relationships developed between contestants are oftentimes the best part of the series. Seeing people who never would have met in any other circumstance form alliances and friendships is a more heartwarming contrast to the brutality often displayed.

Some of the best relationships seen were bromances, a close bond resembling that of a pair of brothers. While most bromances were started of strategic necessity, real bonds and friendships were formed from many of them, too.

Dr. Will Kirby and Mike "Boogie" Malin (Seasons 2 and 7)

Mike "Boogie" Malin and Dr. Will Big Brother

Nicknames are often used by fans as a sign of respect and admiration, and that was the case with these two. "Dr. Will" and "Boogie" formed the dominant chilltown alliance during season 2, and never wavered in their loyalty to each other. Viewers were also lucky enough to see the duo together twice, as they returned for a reunion on the first all-star season.

The two were known for hysterical diary room sessions together, while also plotting their cunning gameplay with each other often. On top of that, the two did seem to have a strong bond as friends in the house which made this bromance even better. Will has plenty of legendary quotes, but Boogie's influence cannot be diminished, as he assisted on plenty of them, or at least was present as he said them.

Brett Robinson and Winston Hines (Season 20)

Brett and Winston were a match made in bromance heaven, as the two had plenty of similarities to one another. Both were jocks who wanted to keep up their fitness regimen while in the house this summer, leading to a natural bond. As the two got closer, they became even more entertaining to watch.

The two may have gotten even too close though, as the rest of the house felt threatened by two physical threats forming such a close friendship. Winston was nominated in back-to-back weeks early on in the season, being nominated alongside Brett when he was evicted in week three. While their bromance was unfortunately defeated, they did have one final iconic moment together when Brett gave one of the most memorable speeches in show history during the veto ceremony.

Derek Xiao and Travis Long

While these two were unable to spend much time together due to Travis being booted in week one, the bond they built during their short time together makes Derek and Travis a lovable duo. The two were seen goofing around often, building a friendship similar to two brothers.

Viewers who did not keep up with the live feeds unfortunately were unable to see much of this bromance. They were only around for week one, which is usually a week used to introduce audiences to all sixteen houseguests. It was also the same week as Frenchie's chaotic reign as head of household, so there wasn't much time to show these two together. Derek did give Travis an emotional goodbye message though, showing a strong bond was already formed.

Kato Kaelin And Tom Green (Celebrity Big Brother 2)

Celebrity Big Brother, much like the standard edition, does bring people from significantly different walks of life together. It may not appear that way, as everyone on the show is a celebrity in some way, but season two of the show showed that. Canadian shock comedian Tom Green and American actor Kato Kaelin formed an unlikely bond, much to the delight of fans.

These two considered themselves the outcasts of the season and used this to bond. The two were constantly cracking jokes and giving live feeders an endless stream of entertainment on the spinoff celebrity season of Big Brother. The bond was real, as Kato has said in an interview with Global News that the two did have a real connection, and it wasn't solely strategic or out of boredom.

Zach Rance And Frankie Grande (Season 16)

Zach and Frankie were two of the most popular players in season 16, so naturally, fans ended up loving the bromance that the two had. Thanks to Zach's propensity to be abrasive with his comments though, it was a bit rocky at times. At the end of the day though, these two were extremely close.

Referred to as "Zankie", the two were thought to have one of the most genuine platonic friendships on Big Brother, but it was often bordering on flirtatious. Zach revealed after the season in an interview for mental health awareness that Frankie's relationship helped him come to terms and feel more comfortable with his sexuality, and come out as bisexual. They had a deep friendship, and to hear how Zach improved his self-image from it was even more wholesome to hear.

Derrick Levasseur and Cody Calafiore (Season 16)

Not only did these two make up one of the most dominant and entertaining alliances of all time, but these two Big Brother champions were also great friends and extremely entertaining on the show. Whether it was them plotting out their next moves, manipulating other houseguests, or just kicking it as bros, they were always must watch conversations.

The two steamrolled season sixteen, making it to the final two, where Derrick took home the grand prize. Cody was left with nothing to show for his contributions, but he did come back and win season 22. The two, referred to as the hitmen alliance, continued their bromance outside of the house. They co-host a podcast, fittingly titled "The Winner's Circle." It can be found on Apple Podcasts and YouTube.

Dan Gheesling And Memphis Garrett (Season 10)

While the hitmen were unique in their command of the house, they certainly took influence from the renegade alliance in season 10. Dan and Memphis laid the foundation for a dynamic duo making it to the end, maintaining a closely-knit friendship that was also mutually beneficial. The two made it to the final two before Dan was crowned the winner.

The two did appear to have a close relationship more based on having an advantage on the season, as the two distanced a bit after the conclusion of their season. However, Memphis did appear as a groomsman at Dan's wedding, according to TooFab. Memphis tried to replicate the success he had on season 10 during his return on season 22, and he did get close but was ultimately ousted before finale night.

JC Monduix and Fessy Shafaat (Season 20)

JC and Fessy were an interesting bromance, to say the least. JC was a bit of a puppet master, as Fessy had complete trust in him and did as he pleased, thinking JC had his best interests at heart. While JC never intentionally sabotaged Fessy, he would convince him to do things that were more beneficial to himself rather than beneficial to both of them. JC would often brag about his exploits in the diary room behind Fessy's back as well.

Despite that, the two were fun to watch together. They were extremely different people with different lifestyles, but they had a strong bond and affinity for one another. The two don't seem as close nowadays, but they also don't seem to be any bad blood, as they have been spotted together, albeit infrequently.

Paul Abrahamian and Victor Arroyo (Season 18)

Victor and Paul were two of the most interesting houseguests the show has seen, but for entirely different reasons. Victor was a zombie who would constantly rise from the dead, having to be evicted three separate times after winning his way back into the game twice, while Paul is one of the most popular houseguests in show history despite never winning America's favorite houseguest. Together, they were a lovable bromance.

The odds were always stacked against these two, but they stuck together and battled through. With their catchphrase being "friendship", the two had a love for each other. In Paul's two seasons on the show, the only one who may have had a stronger bond with him than Vic was Pablo.

Dr. Will Kirby and Howie Gordon (Season 7)

Another unique bromance, Howie and Dr. Will's relationship was summed up perfectly by Will himself during one of the most hilarious segments to make it in an episode; "Howie and I have one thing in common...we're both attracted to me!" Howie was infatuated with the suave Will, often following him around the small house.

Will did play along, using Howie as a means to infiltrate Howie's other alliance comprised of his season 6 housemates. Even when Howie was betrayed and evicted, he directed his ire at Boogie, even though Will also voted to evict him. Regardless of the intent, the relationship between these two was peak Big Brother entertainment.
