When a houseguest is evicted from Big Brother, they are given pre-recorded goodbye messages from those still remaining in the house. Some players use this as a final chance to wish the evicted well and remember their time in the house together fondly.

Others use the goodbye message as a chance to reaffirm their gameplay and secure jury votes. Some players, they just use it as chance to get one last dig in at their rivals. And throughout the history of Big Brother, some of those digs have been a lot more callous than others. While there's still a while before the first contestant will be eliminated from season 24, already, fans can see that a few may end up leaving their stamp on the show this way.

Hannah To Brent - BB 23

When Brent Champagne was blindsided as the third houseguest evicted on Big Brother 23, Hannah Chaddha left him with some BB advice that truly might have helped him had he heard it before he walked out the door.

She reminded him that the number two rule in Big Brother is that if a person feels too safe in the house, then it probably means they're going to be evicted soon. She then left him with a comment about his arrogance, one that surely had to sting as he sat there unanimously evicted after thinking he had the votes to stay.

Kevin to Matt - BB 19

The most unintentionally brutal goodbye message ever recorded occurred when Kevin Schlehuber bid his farewell to Matt Clines or at least attempted to.

In what was probably the shortest goodbye message in the show's history, all Kevin could muster was a "take care" and a "goodbye."  That was literally all he could muster up. Even Matt had to laugh about it. It was one giant final exclamation point on just how entirely unmemorable the floater Matt's time in the Big Brother house had been.

Jessica to Jack - BB 21

Jack Matthews was one of the most controversial and cocky contestants in Big Brother history, which also made him one of the least popular houseguests during his season.

After being evicted during Jessica Milagros's HOH reign, not only did Jack have to sit through an intense questioning from Julie Chen on the comments he made throughout the season, but he also had to sit through Jessica's final gloating goodbye message that made nods to Jack's imploded alliance. It was exactly the ending to Jack's summer in the Big Brother house that so many fans had hoped for.

Erika to Will - BB 7 (All-Stars)

Will " Dr. Will" Kirby is far and away considered one of the smartest Big Brother players to ever play the game. He manipulated his way to victory in Big Brother 2, and he seemed poised to do that once again in the show's first ever All-Stars edition with his Chilltown partner Mike Boogie. All that remained was to get rid of their respective showmance partners, Janelle Pierzina and Erika Landin.

However, the women caught wise to this, and Janelle cast the sole vote to evict Will in the final four. Erika used her goodbye message as a chance to ruthlessly gloat over the fact that she had outmaneuvered one of the show's greatest players.

Britney to Boogie - BB 14

Mike "Boogie" Malin is no stranger to stinging goodbye messages himself, finding himself on the wrong end of some of the show's most memorable ones. Having played a part in fellow BB legend Janelle Pierzina's eviction two weeks prior, Boogie was the second coach to walk out the door that season.

Britney Haynes, still bitter about Janelle's eviction, showed why she's one of the show's funniest houseguests when she mimicked the iconic Chilltown telephone gag in her goodbye message to Boogie. Pretending Janelle was on the other line, she made one last brutal crack about Boogie no longer being in the house.

Ian to Boogie - BB 14

Boogie was on the receiving end of another devastating goodbye, only this time he got it from Ian Terry. What Ian Terry, one of the players Boogie had coached that season, left Boogie with, surely couldn't have been easy to hear for the BB legend (even though it was not intentionally malicious or outwardly cruel like other goodbyes).

Ian calmly and coldly explained how he was the one that had ratted out Boogie's plan to target Britney and Shane, and thus was the one who had masterminded his eviction from the house. Even Boogie was impressed by the cutthroat gameplay Ian had showed, tipping his cap to him.

Ivette to Rachel - BB 6

Ivette Corredero did not like Rachel Plencner whatsoever during the time they spent together on Big Brother 6, and made sure to let the audience know that in some of the most vicious diary room sessions ever recorded in the show.

When Rachel was evicted, Ivette couldn't help herself, telling Rachel that her behavior in the house was out of control and that she had poor sportsmanship. It might have been a game-ending mistake for Ivette, though, as she lost in the final two by a 4-3 jury vote, Rachel's vote going to winner Maggie Ausburn.

Angela to Rachel - BB 20

Angela Rummans was certainly a memorable player during Big Brother 20, and a lot of that comes from her merciless goodbye messages. They even occurred when they really had no reason to, such as when Angela's fellow Level 6 alliance member Rachel Swindler was evicted.

Angela launched into one of the most unnecessarily cruel goodbye messages ever recorded, laying out why Rachel was evicted and finishing with a quip about Rachel's supposed irrelevance that landed her the "crap app" twist in week two. Rachel was dumbfounded by the goodbye message, only able to respond with the much memed "What's wrong with Angela?"

Victoria to Zach - BB 16

Zach Rance and Victoria Rafaeli feuded throughout their time in the house, with Victoria often on the receiving end of Zach's taunts and jokes. Even on Zach's eviction night, it appeared as though he would get the last laugh, making a show out of his exit by throwing fruit loops around the house and joking about.

Zach actually had a smile on his face the entire time, up until Victoria's goodbye message. The message itself was standard eviction gloating, but what really sealed it was the reveal that Victoria had shredded Zach's beloved pink hat. Zach's smile instantly dissipated into a soured grimace at the revelation.

Rachel to Kristen - BB 12

Rachel Reilly had some of the most unforgettable goodbye messages during her first stint on Big Brother, almost all of them in some way containing a reference to not allowing the recently-evicted to get between her and her partner, Brendon Villegas.

The message she left for Kristen Bitting, one of her biggest rivals in the house, was undoubtedly the most brutal of all. In her final farewell, Rachel did her usual schtick, as well as calling Kristen both "the definition of the word bitch" and a "trifling h*e."
