Warning! SPOILERS for the Sunday, July 18 episode of Big Brother 23 below!

Sarah Beth Steagall won the second Wildcard competition on Big Brother 23, which means that the entire Slaughterhouse alliance is exposed to get nominated in week 2. Since his reign as Head of Household ended, Brandon Frenchie had been telling everyone inside the house that he was poised to win the next Wildcard competition. Frenchie set up the eight-person Slaughterhouse alliance, but deep down he knows how shaky that group of houseguests actually is.

Kyland Young became the second HOH of Big Brother 23 following Thursday night's live eviction of Travis Long. Given that he's in the Slaughterhouse alliance, it was always possible that he'd be loyal to that group, which wants to target Derek Xiao next. With that said, Kyland knows he's at the bottom of the Slaughterhouse, which prompted him to expose the alliance to Sarah Beth right away. Thus, there's some hope that he might target a Slaughterhouse member this week.

After Sarah Beth won this second Wildcard competition, she was offered to join the Queens team at the expense of removing their immunity for the week. As the new HOH, Kyland gave safety to his Queens teammates Claire Rehfuss and Tiffany Mitchell. Sarah Beth had the option to ruin that immunity, but she chose to keep them safe for the week. Sarah Beth winning the Wildcard comp ensures that Kyland can still nominate and/or target all eight people within the Slaughterhouse alliance. In turn, this win from Sarah Beth also means that someone like Derek X could still go on the block if Kyland tries to remain loyal to the Slaughterhouse. Otherwise, Ky could still target a "random" player without too many allies, such as Britini D'Angelo.

All things considered, another player can still play in the Power of Veto comp and gain safety for the week. Considering how uncertain Kyland's targets might be, it is safe to predict that a lot of houseguests will be gunning hard for the veto. Kyland has many options in front of him given that all of the players who are immune for the week were never going to be his targets anyway. Kyland could take a big swing at the Slaughterhouse alliance and take one of them out. However, he could still take the easier path: staying loyal to the eight-person alliance and targeting a player who is currently singled out.

More than ever, the fans can really "expect the unexpected" during this Big Brother 23 season. Following Frenchie's overly chaotic HOH reign, Kyland's reign appears to be smoother, but he is still keeping his cards close to his chest.
