A technical mishap on the Big Brother live feeds left fans wondering if Thursday night's double eviction will actually be live. Two weeks ago, the show's host, Julie Chen Moonves, announced that season 23 would feature two back-to-back double evictions. The first double took place last week, sending home both Claire Rehfuss and Alyssa Lopez. The second is suppose to shock the houseguests this week.

The revelation that there would be two double evictions this season relieved fans from the worry of a potential triple Big Brother eviction. A triple eviction is essentially the same thing as a double eviction; however, it includes an additional week of power, nominations and eviction. Last summer during Big Brother: All Stars, viewers and houseguests were left both shocked and exhausted when they were faced with three weeks' worth of game in just one night. Julie announcing that there would be two double evictions this summer alleviated the fear that a triple eviction would become a recurring part of the show. Although it will not take place this season, it could return in the future.

As fans are gearing up for the second double eviction on Thursday, September 16, some have caught a major mess-up on the live feeds. On Wednesday, September 15, the Big Brother live feeds went down in mid-morning Pacific Time. When the feeds are down for long periods of time, footage of animals that are up for adoption plays instead. In the midst of the animal footage on Wednesday, there was a technical issue in which live feed viewers could hear the audio of the houseguests but could not see them. From the audio, viewers learned the houseguests were competing in the Veto Competition a day early; however, according to Monsters & Critics, the houseguests were just practicing for the competition.

A member of the production team could be heard in the leaked audio filling in for Julie for the competition. Since Tiffany was not there, many fans believed that production was actually filming the supposed live show a day early. If the competition was real, Kyland Young won the Power of Veto for a second week in a row. The first eviction of Thursday's episode is set to send home either Tiffany Mitchell or Hannah Chaddha. Based off of the leaked audio, it is perceived that Tiffany has already been evicted as she was not heard participating in the competition. As of this writing, the feeds are still down and are rumored to remain off until after Thursday's episode airs.

It is unclear why production would choose to film the double eviction a day ahead of time; however, Thursday's episode is set to be two hours long, which could play a role in this. If the competition was in fact just practice, that means the houseguests not only know there will be a double eviction but they also already have an idea on how to win the veto. On the other hand, if Thursday's Big Brother episode was filmed in advance, fans are curious to know what the second hour will entail.

Big Brother airs Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8pm on CBS.
