There's a story behind the picture that Big Brother 22: All-Stars host Julie Chen posted in her touching tribute to longtime Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek. When NBC first released Jeopardy! in the 1960s, the show was hosted by Art Fleming. The show went on to become a huge hit in syndication, and Alex Trebek took over the hosting responsibilities in 1984. Alex hosted the show for all of those 36 years. Overall, Alex was beloved by many fans around the world that watched Jeopardy! for many years and had a huge amount of respect and adoration for the host.

In 2020, after a two-year battle against pancreatic cancer, Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek died at 80 years old. This news was particularly devastating to his longtime fans, but it was also a shock even to people who perhaps didn't watch the show religiously but still had a lot of love for Alex. Ever since then, quite a few celebrities and former Jeopardy! contestants have taken to social media to post their own tributes to Alex Trebek. There are still a few episodes that he got to film and that have yet to go on the air. Nonetheless, Alex's history-making legacy will live on forever.

On Monday, November 9, Big Brother host Julie Chen shared her very own tribute to Alex Trebek. It is noteworthy that CBS does the distribution for Jeopardy!, and Julie Chen's husband, Leslie Moonves, was the chairman and CEO of CBS between 2003 and 2018. Julie has also hosted CBS shows for many years, such as Big Brother and The Talk (which she left in 2018). The picture that Julie posted in her tribute to Alex (seen below) is precisely from her time hosting The Talk. The picture was taken in 2015, which is when Alex appeared on the daytime talk show. In the caption that followed the picture, Julie Chen wrote: "Alex Trebek will live on forever in our hearts, he is a fixture of television history and a true legend. Always a Class Act, and a prototype of Perfection when it comes to being a Host. May he Rest In Peace."

Celebrities and Jeopardy! fans alike are still mourning the loss of Alex Trebek, and will probably always miss seeing him on TV for decades to come. There are still a few unaired episodes featuring Alex as a host, which will likely be pleasing to the fans, but also potentially heartbreaking. In any case, Alex's legacy will live on forever, and he'll always be hailed as the golden standard for TV hosts like Julie Chen and others.

Now that Big Brother 22: All-Stars is over, Julie Chen seems to be enjoying the post-season. But this news of Alex Trebek's passing definitely hit her hard.
