Although Big Brother production found a way to provide longtime viewers with another season of the show despite the restrictions surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic last summer, fans were ultimately let down by the season. Because of the lack of entertainment and excitement that the summer consisted of, fans have high expectations for the upcoming new season. While it has already been assumed that there will be no returning houseguests this summer, ultimately allowing 16 brand new players a try at the game, there is no doubt the season will consist of some type of twist.
With every new season of Big Brother comes a new twist to the game that can either benefit the players or destroy their game. One of longtime viewers' least favorite twists from the past has been the duos twist. This is when players are paired up to play the game alongside another houseguest. Now, they are beginning to fear that there may be yet another duos twist this season. The official Twitter page for Big Brother recently tweeted a new teaser clip asking fans who their favorite dynamic duo from the show is. This led many Reddit users to fear that it was actually a hint at an upcoming twist this summer.
While Big Brother fans would much rather see a casting twist rather than a game twist, they still have slight hope for a good season. If there is, in fact, a duos twist, it would not be awful if it was similar to that of season 6. In season 6, the duos were secretly assigned despite many houseguests quickly discovering who was paired with who. On the other hand, fans are worried that a potential duos twist could be similar to that of season 13, during which the pairings were made known from the start. Not only that but the pairs were also nominated together, which ultimately made the season less exciting. During this season, three sets of duos from past seasons returned to the game as well, which led to yet another fear amongst fans as they do not want to see any former houseguests this summer.
Although the twist of Big Brother season 23 will not be revealed until the season premieres, fans only have to wait a few more weeks. It was recently reported that the cast consisting of 16 brand new houseguests has already been finalized. Regardless of what happens, viewers are hopeful season 23 will not disappoint.
