The most recent Big Brother 23 evictee, Derek Xiao, claims that Sarah Beth Steagall is playing "one of the worst games." Sarah Beth won Head of Household last week, which was not only her first HOH reign but also the first time a female houseguest won power all season. Immediately after taking her first win, Sarah Beth devised a plan in which she wanted to backdoor Derek X. since he was such a strong competitor.

Prior to the backdoor, Derek had the opportunity to compete for his safety in the High Roller's Room twist. Despite production allegedly encouraging him to play in the bonus competition last week, Derek opted out in hopes he could save his BB Bucks for the Coin of Destiny next week. Sarah Beth ultimately nominated Derek as a replacement nominee when Xavier Prather used the Power of Veto to pull himself off of the block. Derek was ultimately sent home Thursday night with a vote of 5-2 against one of his closest friends, Claire Rehfuss.

Now that Derek is headed to the jury house, he is sharing his thoughts on the remaining houseguests. According to Global TV, Derek feels Sarah Beth is playing "one of the worst games." After executing his blindside, backdoor eviction last week, Derek believes Sarah has a major target on her back. He also feels Sarah Beth is "floundering." Similar to how Christian Birkenberger claimed that Derek was in trouble after perpetrating his backdoor eviction, Derek feels the same about Sarah Beth. He said, "She has no idea what’s coming her way." Unfortunately, Derek does not think taking a shot at Sarah Beth would be a good game move because she is not necessarily a threat in the house.

As for who he believes is playing the best game, Kyland Young and Xavier Prather are the strongest players in the house according to Derek. But, because of this, Derek hopes one of these two players will be the next person to join him and Britini D'Angelo in the jury house next week. If this does in fact happen, Derek will be confident that the other houseguests are catching onto the dominating six-person alliance, The Cookout. This would also give Derek's best allies Tiffany Mitchell, Hannah Chaddha and Claire Rehfuss a better chance at winning the $750,000 grand prize. Although Tiffany won the eighth Head of Household competition last night, she will most likely be targeting Sarah Beth instead of Kyland or Xavier.

In his exit interview with longtime host Julie Chen Moonves Thursday night, Derek exclaimed that he hopes there will be a battle back competition for the jury members. Although this is something that has been done in numerous past seasons, it is unlikely to take place this season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During the interview, Julie did not confirm nor deny Derek's hope for a second chance at the game this season. Whether or not he gets to reenter the game before the season concludes, Derek is ultimately very proud of the game that he played this summer despite not making it to the end.
