The super-secret and super exciting 22nd season of Big Brother features an all-star cast. CBS kept its lips sealed in regard to who this season will be on the current season. With the help of social media, some houseguests’ returns were leaked, unveiling some the network’s secrets. With that being said, there was still a lot of unknowns and the question on the mind of many, many fans was “Will Da’Vonne make a return for the third time?”

Having made her debut in the Big Brother house in season 17, the then 27-year old poker dealer and Inglewood-native, Da’Vonne Rogers quickly became a fan-favorite and even penned the nickname “Momma Day.” Her keen eye, wit, and love for her daughter are what caused her to garner America’s attention even if her skillset and character weren’t as appreciated by the other houseguests. Rogers did make a return to the game for season 18 and ended up staying in the house 29 days longer than her first appearance, for a total of 51 days.

Rogers has been vocal on social media about wanting to book actual acting roles. In fact, it was never her goal to become a reality TV star, according to Cheat Sheet. Big Brother was the catalyst she could utilize in order to build a platform and become an actress. Since her two seasons on the CBS show, the mother of one has:

  • Gone viral on social media several times for her Big Brother departure dance and her “pretends to be shocked face” gifs,
  • Competed on The Challenge: Final Reckoning and The Challenge: War of the Worlds,
  • Started a YouTube channel: Da’Vonne Dianne
  • Started her own podcast: The Soaring Sistahood,
  • Displayed her acting chops on social media with creative bits as Busta Rhymes, Whitney Houston, Taraji P. Henson, and Phylicia Rashad as Claire Huxtable.

Rogers seemed to have made the decision to step away from reality TV. When the news came out that Big Brother season 22 would feature an all-star cast, many asked the Big Brother alum if she would be making an appearance after a cryptic gif alluded to the idea. Rogers eventually denied the rumors with a tweet stating, “…I will NOT be on BIG BROTHER US this summer. I don’t want y’all looking forward to something that isn’t real.” Such a strong statement strengthened the shock factor when fans saw her face on the screen during the season's premiere on Wednesday.

Da’Vonne Rogers has proven to be persistent, hardworking, and likable and it’s no wonder Big Brother fans really wanted her back on the newest season. With her genuineness and sense of humor, everyone's biting their nails as they wait for her her rib-tickling confessionals in the Diary Room. At this point, Hollywood will have to wait on giving her a role she can crush!

Big Brother season 22 airs Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 8pm EST on CBS.
