There are plenty of contestants who were featured on other reality shows ever since they became famous for competing on Big Brother. Many houseguests went on to become huge reality TV stars after their original runs on a BB season. As a result, some of these stars were cast on other reality TV shows such as CBS' The Amazing Race and Survivor, as well as MTV's The Challenge. Fortunately for some, they performed much better on that second reality competition. However, that hasn't been true for most of them.

After airing on CBS for two decades, it is safe to say that there are plenty of Big Brother stars that producers can choose to cast for other shows. Because BB is such a social experiment that also involves several physical and mental competitions, it's of note that these contestants would be well-suited to compete on pretty much any other show. Overall, it's impressive how well some of these former houseguests did on other shows, even the ones that seemed the hardest for them to thrive on.

The Amazing Race (CBS)

There are several Big Brother stars who have gone on to compete on The Amazing Race. The first time that this happened was when BB4 runner-up Alison Irwin joined season 5 of TAR in 2004. She became the first BB star to cross over. At the time, she competed with her boyfriend, Donny Patrick. They finished in first place on their first leg but were immediately eliminated during the second leg of the race, ultimately landing in tenth place. In later years, Big Brother 11 winner Jordan Lloyd and husband/co-star Jeff Schroeder also got cast on The Amazing Race. Together, they competed on TAR season 16, ending in seventh place. Later, the couple went on to compete on Big Brother 13, with Jeff placing seventh and Jordan placing fourth. Then, after competing on BB19Jessica Graf and Cody Nickson went on to become the first former Big Brother players in history to win The Amazing Race. The couple competed on TAR season 30. The pair were early frontrunners who won 2 of 12 legs and ultimately took home the grand prize.

Another well-known Big Brother showmance is Rachel Reilly and Brendon Villegas. Together, they competed on both BB12 and BB13. On season 12, Rachel was evicted in ninth place and Brendon was evicted soon after in sixth place. But then Rachel won season 13, taking home the $500,000 grand prize and becoming a huge fan-favorite. These two are the only couple in the history of Big Brother to compete on two seasons of The Amazing Race. In addition, they became the first team ever to complete all legs of the race on different seasons. Rachel and Brendon were strong competitors on seasons 20 and 24 of TAR, but they ultimately got third place both times. Rachel later went on The Amazing Race season 31 with her sister Elissa Slater (who competed on BB15).

The Queen of Big Brother, Janelle Pierzina, came in third on both BB6 and BB7 (which was the series' first-ever All-Stars). She was then cast as a coach on BB14, but the show quickly presented a twist where she was made into a regular contestant. Considering how big of a target she had on her back, Janelle was the fourth houseguest evicted in the season. The fans fell in love with Janelle all over again when she competed on Big Brother 22: All-Stars, but that wasn't her only recent stint on reality TV. In 2019, Janelle and BB14 co-star Britney Haynes joined the cast of The Amazing Race season 31. As previously mentioned, that same season featured Rachel and Brendon. Furthermore, TAR 31 also cast BB18 winner Nicole Franzel and co-star/fiancé Victor Arroyo on the show. Nicole was in a different showmance during Big Brother 18, but she began dating Victor after the show ended. In the end, Nicole and Victor made it all the way to Final 4.

There has also been an opposite exchange between BB and TAR players. In 2015, Jeff Weldon and Jackie Ibarra became known for competing together on The Amazing Race 26. On that season, some of the contestants didn't actually know their teammates prior to going on the show. Jeff and Jackie were one of those "blind date" teams. Nonetheless, after their performance on TAR, CBS decided to cast Jeff and Jackie on Big Brother 17 as well. However, they didn't do that great on BB. Jeff ended up in 15th place, and Jackie only got to 10th place.

The Challenge (MTV)

There's a large number of Big Brother alumni that have competed on MTV's The Challenge. From BB17, the twin sisters Julia and Liz Nolan on The Challenge: War of the Worlds. However, they were eliminated rather quickly in episode 4. Da'Vonne Rogers, who competed on BB17BB18, and BB22, was cast on the War of the Worlds and Final Reckoning seasons. BB18 star Paulie Calafiore has competed three times on this series: he competed on the two first editions of The Challenge: War of the Worlds and on the Final Reckoning season. Josh Martinez, who won BB19, has also competed thrice on The Challenge. He competed against Paulie on the first two War of the Worlds seasons and was also featured on Total Madness.

Speaking of The Challenge: Total Madness, that season was packed with Big Brother stars. Besides Josh, the show featured BB20 co-stars Bayleigh Dayton, Swaggy C, Kaycee Clark, and Fessy Shafaat. Other BB alumni who got to compete on this show include BB18 stars Natalie Negrotti (Vendettas, Final Reckoning, and War of the Worlds), Victor Arroyo (The Challenge: Vendettas), and Jozea Flores (The Challenge: Champs Vs. Stars and Final Reckoning). From Big Brother: Over The Top, Morgan Willett also competed on War of the Worlds.

Survivor (CBS)

Hayden Moss smiles for a Survivor promo photo.

Hayden Moss is best known for being the winner of Big Brother 12. However, he came back to CBS a few years after his win to compete in another huge reality competition. Over the years, Hayden became the first-ever BB player to get cast on Survivor. In particular, Hayden competed on Survivor: Blood vs Water, which was the show's 27th season. Just like he had proved inside the Big Brother house, Hayden was a fierce competitor during his time on Survivor, causing the second-ever rock drawing tiebreaker in history. However, he was ultimately eliminated in 7th place once he became a strategic threat. Following Hayden's footsteps, Big Brother season 16 star Caleb Reynolds also joined the cast of Survivor, competing on two seasons. He first competed on season 32, which was dubbed Survivor: Kaoh Rong. Caleb Reynolds was very well-liked by his tribemates but had to be medically evacuated on day 9 due to severe heatstroke during a comp. He then returned on season 34, Survivor: Game Changers, but he was voted out on day 9.
